Spurs vs. Nuggets Game Overview
Through the first three quarters the Spurs dominated the first game of this series and in the end a win is a win with Wednesday's 108-103 victory as 13.5-point home favorites. It was the first time they failed to cover against the spread in their last nine games. The total stayed UNDER the closing 216-point line and it has now stayed UNDER in six of their last eight outings. This 15-game SU winning streak improved San Antonio's overall record to an NBA-best 55-16 and it now has a three-game lead over Oklahoma City for the top seed in the Western Conference.
Tim Duncan led the way against the Nuggets with 29 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. Tony Parker may lead the Spurs in scoring with an average of 17.5 points per game, but he had a quiet night with just 10 points in 37 minutes of play. San Antonio shot 48.9 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range which almost mirrors its numbers on the year. On an injury note, Danny Green left the game with a sprained foot and he remains questionable for Friday night.

Denver's fourth quarter rally came up short after digging itself into a 17-point hole at the end of three. It was the Nuggets third SU loss in their last four games, but they have now covered in seven of their last nine contests with the total staying UNDER in five of the last seven games. They now return home where they have gone 19-16 SU this season, but ATS they are just 14-21. The total has gone OVER in four of their last six home games.
It would tough enough for Denver to beat the Spurs at full strength, but it is at a severe disadvantage with an injury list that includes JJ Hickson, Nate Robinson and Danilo Gallinari, who have all been lost for the season. Wilson Chandler has missed the last three games and he remains questionable for this matchup as well. In their absence, Ty Lawson and Kenneth Faried have had to carry the load. Faried scored 24 points against the Spurs the first time around and Aaron Brooks came off the bench to lead the team with 25 points in the losing effort.
