Monday's NBA Playoff Odds & Picks 9/7/20
Boston and Toronto meet for a key Game 5 while the Clippers and Denver, also even in their series, play a Game 3 Sunday down in the bubble. How are we betting these games with our free NBA picks?
Celtics -1/212 vs. Raptors, 6:30 pm ET, TNT
This series is tied at two games apiece following Toronto's 100-93 Game 4 victory Saturday. That game was tied at halftime, but the Raptors spurted to an 11-point lead late in the third quarter. Toronto then let Boston get within five points midway through the fourth but held on from there for the outright win as a two-point underdog.
On the night, the Raptors hit 17/44 from 3-point land while the Celtics shot just 7/35 from beyond the arc.
Saturday's game also played well under its total of 214. So the unders are 4-0 in this series.
With Saturday's win, Toronto is now 6-2 SU, 4-4 ATS in these playoffs.
With Saturday's loss, Boston is now 6-2 both SU and ATS in these playoffs.
Also, the Celtics are now 5-3 SU, 6-2 ATS against the Raptors this season.
On the injury front, Boston is still playing without injured F Gordon Hayward.
NBA betting odds opened this game with Toronto favored by two points, but early betting action flipped the Celtics into the favorite.
Free NBA Playoff Pick: We're having trouble picking this series; we took Toronto the first three games, then backed Boston in Game 4. So we're a bit stumped. As for this Game 5, though, we gotta believe the Celtics are going to shoot the ball at least a little better than they did Saturday, so we'll back Boston again.
Clippers -9/219 vs. Nuggets, 9 pm ET, TNT
This series is tied at one game apiece following Denver's 110-101 Game 2 victory Saturday. The Nuggets jumped out to a 44-25 first-quarter lead Saturday, led by double-digits most of the rest of the way, let Los Angeles get within five points midway through the fourth quarter but hung on for the outright win as nine-point dogs.
On the night, Denver shot 45 percent from the floor while holding Los Angeles to just 41 percent shooting.
With Saturday's win, the Nuggets are now 5-4 SU, 6-3 ATS in these playoffs.
With Saturday's loss, the Clippers are now 5-3 both SU and ATS in these playoffs.
Also, LA is now 3-2 both SU and ATS against Denver this season.
Saturday's game played under its total of 224. So the unders are 2-0 in this series.
On the injury front, Denver C Nikola Jokic is listed as questionable with a sore wrist. He'll probably play, but one has to wonder if his game will be affected.
Free NBA Playoff Pick: We're 2-0 ATS picking this series, giving the points with the Clippers in Game 1, then taking the Nuggets and the points in Game 2. As for this Game 3 we gotta believe LA will shoot the ball better than it did Saturday, while Denver probably won't. And when the Clippers are on, they can blow opponents out. We'll zig-zag our pick here and go with Los Angeles.
