Phoenix has won its last two games to pull into a tie with Dallas for the No. 7 seed in the West. It ran past Atlanta on Sunday 129-120 as an eight-point home favorite to improve to 5-3 both SU and ATS in its last eight outings. Overall, the Suns are 36-24 SU with a 36-20-3 record ATS. They have gone 18-12-2 ATS at home this season and the total has gone OVER in 19 of the 32 games.
This is another team that knows how to put points on the board with an average of 105.3 PPG. Phoenix has exceeded this total in five of their last eight games and it has scored 110 or more points four times during this same stretch. Goran Dragic is averaging a team-high 20.6 point but the Suns remained balanced on offense with six other players averaging at least nine PPG. They are shooting 46 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from 3-point range. The one concern all season long has been a defense that is ranked 24th in the NBA in points allowed (102.3).
LA Clippers at Phoenix Suns Betting Trends
The Clippers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a win ATS and the total has gone OVER in 14 of their last 17 games on the road. It has gone OVER in 11 of their last 12 road games against a team with a SU winning record at home.
The Suns are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against the Pacific Division and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games following a SU win. The total has gone OVER in nine of their last 12 conference games.
Head-to-head in this matchup, the home team is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings and the total has stayed UNDER in nine of the last 11 games.
This game could easily turn into a shootout given each team's current form, so do not rule out a play on the OVER. Even with the Clippers playing at a high level right now, it will be a difficult task to come into the US Airways Center and steal a win. Stick with the Suns in this one as I have them winning SU.
