Two of the top teams in the NBA will square-off against one another this Tuesday night when the Houston Rockets go on the road to Chesapeake Energy Arena to face the Oklahoma City Thunder. Rockets vs. Thunder Game Overview
Houston continues to make its way up the standings in the West with a straight-up five-game winning streak heading into Tuesday night's clash. This is part of 15-2 run since late January that has raised its overall SU record to 44-19. The Rockets are now just 2.5 games in back of San Antonio for the top spot in both the Southwest Division as well as the conference. They have been somewhat profitable to wager on during this run with an 11-6 record ATS. They failed to cover as 6.5-point home favorites in this past Sunday's 118-113 victory over Portland after covering in three previous outings.
The duo of James Harden and Dwight Howard keeps rolling right along and Houston, as a whole, is currently ranked third in the NBA in points (106.6) and fifth in rebounds (45.3). Harden has led the way with an average of 24.9 points per game and Howard is pulling down 12.4 rebounds while chipping-in another 18.9 points. The Rockets are shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 35.4 percent from 3-point range.

During the Houston's recent run, the Thunder have been headed in the opposite direction with a 5-5 SU record in their last 10 games. They might have hit rock bottom on Sunday with a 114-110 loss to the Lakers as 12.5-point home favorites. Oklahoma City has been murder on the bankroll with a 2-6-1 mark ATS in its last nine games. The total stayed UNDER the inflated 229.5-point closing line against Los Angeles after going OVER in nine of their past 12 games.
The return of Russell Westbrook to the lineup has brought a bag of mixed results as it has taken longer than expected to work him back into the flow of the game. He has averaged 23.3 PPG in his last six starts, but the Thunder have just a 3-3 SU record to show for his efforts. Oklahoma City still lives and dies on the play of MVP candidate Kevin Durant, who leads the team with 31.7 PPG while shooting 50.8 percent from the field and 39.3 percent from 3-point range.

Houston Rockets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Betting Trends
The Rockets are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a SU winning record. The total has stayed UNDER in seven of their last 10 games on the road against a team with a SU winning record at home.
The Thunder are 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 games against a team from the Southwest and 12-5-1 ATS in their last 18 games playing on one day's rest. The total has gone OVER in four of their last five home games.
Oklahoma City has won the first two games in this season's series both SU and ATS and the total has stayed UNDER both times. Overall in this matchup, Houston is just 3-10 ATS in its last 13 road games against the Thunder and the total has stayed UNDER in the last four meetings in Oklahoma City.

Betting Pick
The current form of both of these teams would appear to dictate a Rockets' upset on the road, but my pick in this matchup is for Oklahoma City to bounce back from that dreadful showing against the Lakers with a game-winning performance on Tuesday night that covers the 3.5-point spread.
