Warriors vs. Clippers Game Overview
When Andrew Bogut went down with a broken rib most of the betting public wrote off Golden State in this opening round matchup. The Warriors rose to the occasion without their star center by beating the Clippers 109-105 this past Saturday night in Game 1 of this best-of-seven affair. They closed as 7.5-point underdogs on the road and the total went OVER the 211-point line. Golden State is now 4-1 straight-up in its last five games with a perfect 5-0 mark against the spread. The total has now gone OVER in its last four outings.
Jermaine O'Neal took Bogut's place in the starting lineup and had 13 points and three rebounds in Saturday night's win, but it was the elevated play of Klay Thompson (22 points, seven rebounds and five assists) and David Lee (20 points and 13 rebounds) that helped pace the upset. Stephen Curry added 14 points while shooting just 6-for-16 from the field and 2-for-6 from 3-point range. You get the feeling that the Warriors will need a better effort than that to pull off another upset on Monday night.

Los Angeles was one of the hottest teams in the NBA down the stretch run of the regular season with a SU record of 20-5, but with Saturday's loss it is now just 3-4 both SU and ATS in its last seven contests. The Clippers are 3-5 ATS in their last eight home games and the total has gone OVER in nine of their last 11 games overall.
The Clippers jumped out to an early 11-point lead in Game 1, but they had no answer for stopping Thompson or Lee as the night wore on. Chris Paul led all scorers with 28 points and Blake Griffin added 16 points in the losing cause, but the big area of concern heading into Game 2 were the numerous breakdowns on defense that created an 11-point deficit early in the fourth quarter of the series opener. Los Angeles finished the night shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from beyond the arc.

Golden State vs. Los Angeles Betting Trends
The Warriors are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a SU winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a SU win. The total has gone OVER in four of their last five games playing on one day's rest.
The Clippers are 14-5 ATS in their last 19 games following a SU loss, but they have failed to cover in their last six conference quarterfinals games. The total has gone OVER in seven of their last nine games following a SU loss.
Head-to-head in this Pacific Division rivalry, the home team is 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings and the total has gone OVER in eight of the last 10 games. These two split the regular season series 2-2 with the home team winning all four games SU.

Total Line Pick
It is hard to see the Clippers going down 0-2 in this series at home, but my confidence level in their ability to cover the eight points is not all that high. What I do like in this matchup is the OVER on the total line in what should be another high scoring affair.
