Boston Celtics at Indiana Pacers Pick - Game 3 NBA Prediction
The Boston Celtics (51-33) will hit the road to take on the Indiana Pacers (48-36) at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana for a Game Three of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. The tip is scheduled for 8:30 PM ET and set to be televised on ABC with corresponding coverage on FSN and TSN. The Celtics won the first two games of the series in Beantown to jump out to a commanding lead. On Wednesday, a push was fostered when the Celtics defeated the Pacers 99-91 closing as an eight-point favorite. Overall, Boston has won the last five meetings between the two sides.
Boston Celtics at Indiana Pacers Overview
The Celtics defense is doing what it needs to do, and that is called beating Indiana at their own game. The Pacers came into this series owning the top scoring defense in the NBA (104.7 points per match), but it is Boston's defense that has kept the Pacers offense to an under 90 points average in each of the first two matches.
Mirroring what the trend in Game Two was, the Celtics committed more turnovers 14-12 but outshot the Pacers overall from the field hitting 47.6% of their field goals to Indiana's 44.4% field goal percentage. The Celtics continue to focus their attack on this narrative but also outmuscled the Pacers in points in the paint by a margin of 48-36. At one point, Indiana led by 12 points until their offense sputtered and stalled once again to give up the lead.
Reasons To Avoid Boston
Given their dominance in the first two games of this series, we have seen public begin to lean on the C's here as the dog which signifies that the Pacers may indeed be undervalued. The fact that Boston has gone to an underdog despite the present win streak would suggest that the market is taking a clear position on this game as to what its expectations are. However, to the naked eye, Boston seems too easy and that in itself, especially given the fact they have only failed to cover once in their present five-game winning streak against Indiana.
Reasons To Back Indiana
The Pacers are a different team on their own court. At home, this season, Indiana on average outscores opponents by a margin of 7.6 points. As a result, the Pacers finished 29-12 SU on their own hardwood this season and have a true benefit of home cooking as they try to claw back into the series against a Boston team that plays just above .500 ball away from home (21-20 SU).

Celtics at Pacers Prediction 04/19/2019
It's "do or die" time now for the Pacers as they simply cannot afford to go down 3-0 and have any hopes of coming from behind to win this series. I expect the Pacers to play with a sense of urgency and hone their home court advantage to get the win. Since we are only asked to lay a basket, the Pacers are a real bargain play as they could build another significant lead and this time they won’t relinquish it.
