Kevin Harvick made his way to the Winner’s Circle for the fourth time this season with last Sunday’s victory on the Monster Mile at Dover. Two drivers at much longer odds shook up the Top 3 betting with Clint Bowyer taking second and Daniel Suarez finishing third. Chase Elliott was my top-valued pick at +850 betting odds, but he faded to 12th in the final running order.

<h2>
KC Masterpiece 400 Race Favorites<br />
</h2>
<p>
<b>Kevin Harvick +240 </b>
</p>
<p>
Harvick went on a three-race winning streak earlier in the season, so betting on him to win back-to-back races this week is not that big of a stretch. The No. 4 Ford has been dominant this season with eight runs inside the top five through 11 Cup Series events. His four victories had already doubled his win total from last season when he finished third in the final standings. Harvick has led 741 laps in those first 11 events verse his 850 total laps led in 2017.
</p>
<p>
As far as his recent track record at Kansas, he finished third in this event last season before coming in eighth in the second race. Harvick has six Top 3 runs at this track in his previous nine Cup Series events including a pair of first-place finishes.
</p>
<p>
<b>Kyle Busch +350 </b>
</p>
<p>
The No. 18 Toyota guided by the younger of the Busch brothers strung together a three-race winning streak of its own this season starting with a victory at Texas Motor Speedway in early April. His last two runs were forgettable with a 13th-place finish at Talladega followed by a fade to 35th at Dover with mechanical issues. It would be easy to see Busch matching Harvick's win total for the year on Saturday night, assuming his team irons out its drivetrain problems, it would be easy to see Busch matching Harvick’s win total for the year on Saturday night.
</p>
<p>
Busch won this event in 2016, and he followed it up with a fifth-place finish in this race last season. With those two successful runs, he has now finished fifth or better in five of his previous six trips around the Kansas Speedway oval in a Cup Series race.
</p>
<p>
<b>Martin Truex Jr. +350 </b>
</p>
<p>
The defending champ has been unable to keep pace with the top two drivers in the standings mentioned above. However, he has been able to guide the No. 78 Toyota to six finishes inside the top five including a victory at Fontana and a fourth-place run last Sunday at Dover. This team is holding down the ninth place in the current Cup Series standings with a total of 340 points.
</p>
<p>
Adding even more value to Truex’s odds to win this Saturday night is that fact that he is also the defending champion of this race as part of his six overall victories in that 2017 title run. He won both races at this track last year.
</p>
<p>
<b>Brad Keselowski +1000 </b>
</p>
<p>
The former 2012 Cup Series Champion has only made his way into the top five in two events this season, but Keselowski has raced well enough behind the wheel of the No. 2 Ford to move this team into fifth place in the standings with a total of 365 points. He has led a total of 247 laps, including 38 in his second-place finish at Atlanta early in the season. He led 108 laps last week at Dover before finishing sixth.

KC Masterpiece 400 Prediction 05/12/2018

The last time Keselowski won a race at Kansas was in 2011, but I am encouraged by his second-place finish in this event last season coupled with a solid showing on the Monster Mile last Sunday afternoon.
