The final race of NASCAR’s Monster Energy Cup Series’ regular season takes place this Sunday at fabled Indianapolis Motor Speedway with the running of the Big Vodka 400 at the Brickyard. The green flag for this final run before the start of the 10-race playoff to the Cup is set for 2 p.m. on NBC Sports Network.

My top-valued driver to win last week's race at Darlington came through at +1700 betting odds with Brad Keselowski's first victory of the year in a point-race event. Joey Logano was second in that race, and Kyle Larson finished third.

The following is a look at a trio of the top favorites to win Sunday’s race at Indianapolis along with my top-valued pick to win at longer odds as provided by 5Dimes Sportsbook

Big Machine Vodka 400 Favorites

Kevin Harvick +265

Harvick would love to add a victory at Indy to a 2018 racing resume that could be one for the ages. It would have to end with the season's Cup Series title, but he has already guided the No. 4 Ford to seven trips to Victory Lane. He has placed inside the top five in 18 of the first 25 point events this season to accumulate a total of 999 points in the current standings. Even more impressive is his 1,198 total laps led after leading 850 laps all last season. The drain on this week's odds is that Harvick's only victory at this track in a point race was back in 2003 and he has not finished better than sixth at Indy since 2011.

Kyle Busch +265

As the co-favorite to win on Sunday, Busch could be in the perfect position to tie Harvick for total wins this season with six of his own. He has the No. 18 Toyota sitting in first place in the standings with 1,038 total points and his total runs inside the top five is also one shy of his top rival this season at 17. He also trails slightly in total laps led with 1,089 to paint the picture of just how dominant these two drivers have been this season. When it comes to Busch's recent performance at the Brickyard, he adds far more value to his odds to win. Last year's race was forgettable with an early wreck. However, prior to that, he won this event in 2015 and 2016.

Martin Truex Jr. +470

The 2017 Cup Series Champ has done his best to hang with the top two drivers in the standings with four checkered flags and another 11 Top 5 runs. That has been good enough to hold down third place in the standings with a total of 883 points. His last three runs were outside the top 10 including an 11th-place finish last Sunday at Darlington that followed a short night at Bristol with a wreck. Current form combined with last year’s wreck at Indy does drain some value from his betting odds to win on Sunday as does a career 19.5 average finishing position at this track.

Big Machine Vodka 400 Prediction 09/09/2018

Keselowski came through last week at meaty odds so it could be Logano's turn to shine this week coming off that solid run at Darlington. He has already secured his spot in the 16-driver field for the 10-race playoff with an earlier victory this season at Talladega. However, with a recent fourth-place finish at Bristol, the No. 22 Ford brings some solid momentum into Sunday’s main event. I also like the fact that Logano has been in the mix at Indy over the past five seasons, including a second-place finish in 2015 and a fourth-place finish last year.
