<h2>
Yankees vs. Twins Set-Up<br />
</h2>
<p>
New York just took two of three games at home from Colorado over the weekend, missing out on the sweep by losing Sunday 8-4. Just before that, the Yankees took three of four from Tampa Bay, and the series before that they took two of three from Toronto. So New York is 3-0 over its last three series and 7-3 over its last ten games.
</p>
<p>
At 64-34 overall the Yankees lead the AL East by nine games over the second-place Rays, and they're a game and a half up on Houston in the battle for the best record in the American League.
</p>
<p>
Minnesota, meanwhile, just split four games at home with Oakland, winning Sunday's series finale 7-6 with two runs in the bottom of the ninth. Just before the Oakland series, the Twins got swept two games by the Mets. So Minnesota is 0-1-1 over its last two series and 2-5 over its last seven games.
</p>
<p>
At 60-38 overall Minnesota now leads the AL Central by just three games over second-place Cleveland, and it now trails the Astros by 2.5 games in the race for the No. 2 seed in the AL playoffs.
</p>
<p>
This series is the second meeting between these teams this season; back in May, the Yanks took two of three games from the Twins in the Bronx.
</p>
<h2>
Monday's Starting Arms<br />
</h2>
<p>
Lefty Perez is 7/16 on quality starts this season and two for his last three. Last Wednesday he held the Mets to two runs – one earned – and five hits through six innings, although Minnesota lost that game 14-4. And over his last three starts, he's allowed seven ER and 15 hits through 19 innings.
</p>
<p>
The Twins are 9-7 when Perez starts this season, and while they're only 1-2 over his last three starts, that's not his fault.
</p>
<p>
In his most recent start against New York, back in August of last season when he was still with Texas, Perez got clipped for seven runs and 11 hits through five frames of a 7-2 Rangers defeat.
</p>
<p>
Fellow southpaw Sabathia, by our strict standards, is only 4/15 on quality starts this season but three for his last four. Last Tuesday he held gave up three runs and two home runs through six innings of an 8-3 Yankees victory over Tampa. And over his last four starts, he's allowed nine runs and 20 hits through 25 innings.
</p>
<p>
New York is 9-6 with CC this season, 3-1 over his last four starts.
</p>
<p>
In his most recent start against Minnesota, back in April of last season, Sabathia allowed one unearned run and two hits through six innings of an 8-3 Yanks win.
</p>
<h2>
Monday's Batting Splits<br />
</h2>
<p>
New York is batting .243/.318/.413 against left-handed pitching this season. This unit has also scored 42 runs over its last six games.
</p>
<p>
Minnesota is batting .290/.351/.509 against LH pitching this season, which ranks this lineup in the top two in the Majors in this split.
</p>
<h2>
The Bullpens<br />
</h2>
<p>
The Yankees bullpen owns a 3.71 ERA this season and a 1.28 WHIP while allowing a .696 OPS. Numbers like those help this unit rank among the top half-dozen bullpens in Baseball.
</p>
<p>
The Twins pen owns a 4.36 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP while allowing a .747 OPS.
</p>

Yankees at Twins Prediction 07/22/2019

We don't know who's going to win this game. However, when we take into consideration Sabathia's road ERA of 5.84 ERA this season, plus New York's hot bats, plus Minnesota's ability to hit left-handed pitching, we do expect some runs to be scored. So we're playing the over here for our free MLB pick.
