Super Bowl VI RecapBetting Odds:
Super Bowl 6 Game Recap It was doomsday - as in the Doomsday Defense - for the Miami Dolphins as they headed for Super Bowl VI. Dallas had given up a single touchdown in 25 previous quarters and would not give up one to Miami, in a 24-3 victory by Tom Landry's Cowboys in Super Bowl VI. Dallas ran for 252 yards with Duane Thomas and Walt Garrison leading the way. Roger Staubach threw two TDs - including one to legendary Mike Ditka - in winning Super Bowl VI MVP honors. Staubach became the first player to cop the Heisman and Super Bowl MVP awards. The Dallas 'D' held the Dolphins to 185 yards. Dallas led early, after a field goal in the wake of a Larry Csonka fumble. They led 10-3 and the half and piled on two more scores after the break. After Dallas received the second-half kickoff, Duane Thomas led a 71-yard march in eight plays for a 17-3 margin. Chuck Howley recovered a fumble and picked off a Bob Griese pass to lead the defensive charge. On offense, Staubach was 12-for-19 for 119 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Final Score: 24-3
