Super Bowl XL RecapBetting Odds:
Super Bowl 40 Game Recap It had been 26 years for the Pittsburgh Steelers and they were tired of waiting. Coach Bill Cowher got his Super Bowl in his 14th season at the helm, Jerome Bettis won in his final game and the Seattle Seahawks just couldn't get it going in a 21-10 Steeler victory in Super Bowl XL. Willie Parker busted a record 75-yard touchdown run to open the game and Seattle was frustrated by controversial penalties and dropped passes in the loss. The Steelers tied the 49ers and Cowboys as five-time Super Bowl winners. Hines Ward was named Super Bowl XL MVP with a touchdown on a trick play. Wide receiver Antwaan Randle El, a converted quarterback, took a handoff from Parker, and threw to Ward for a 43-yard score in the fourth quarter. Ward had five receptions for 123 yards and Ben Roethlisberger won the Super Bowl in his first full season. He didn't do much, but it was enough for the Steelers. The Steelers won as a Wild Card team, winning their final four games to go 11-5. They won at Indianapolis and Denver in the AFC Championship Game to complete their march to Super Bowl XL. Final Score: 21-10
