Super Bowl XXVIII RecapBetting Odds:
Super Bowl 28 Game Recap Same teams, same result. Dallas running back Emmitt Smith ran for 132 yards and scored twice in the second half as the Cowboys beat the Buffalo Bills 30-13 in Super Bowl XXVIII. It was a repeat of Super Bowl XXVII in many respects: same talented squads, same early lead for Buffalo, same mistakes by the Bills leading to the same second-half domination by Dallas. When it was done, Dallas had joined San Francisco and Pittsburgh as four-time Super Bowl winners, while the Bills earned the distinction of losing four straight Super Bowls. Dallas was favored by 10.5 points, but trailed 13-6 at halftime. But then another Thurman Thomas miscue - he fumbled in the first minute - led James Washington on a 46-yard meander for a score. After that, Dallas turned the ball over Super Bowl XXVIII MVP Emmitt Smith, who crushed the Bills by running behind the powerful Dallas offensive line. Smith carried 30 times in all, with 19 of his attempts and 92 yards coming after intermission. Quarterback Troy Aikman completed 19 of 27 passes for 207 yards, while Buffalo's Jim Kelly led the No-Huddle offense to great numbers - 31 completions in 50 attempts for 260 yards - but not to victory. Dallas lost their first two games of the season during a Smith holdout, but managed to finish 12-4 ahead of the Giants in the NFC. The Cowboy win made it 10 in a ro for the NFC over the AFC. Final Score: 30-13
