Super Bowl XXVII RecapBetting Odds:
Super Bowl 27 Game Recap Buffalo's third trip to the Super Bowl was even uglier than their second. Dallas forced nine turnovers in routing Jim Kelly and the Bills 52-17 in Super Bowl XXVII at Atlanta. Troy Aikman, who was named Super Bowl XXVII MVP, passed for four touchdowns and Emmitt Smith, a future Hall of Famer and expert dancer, rushed for 108 yards. Buffalo led early but, just like Super Bowl XXVI when interceptions killed them against the Redskins, turnovers doomed Buffalo to its third straight Super Bowl loss. A pick late in the first quarter yielded Aikman's 23-yard touchdown pass to tight end Jay Novacek. Immediately after the kickoff, Charles Haley sacked Kelly at the Buffalo 2-yard line and the Cowboys returned the fumble for a score. Dallas scored again, then made it 28-10 at the half when Bills running back Thurman Thomas lost a fumble at his 19-yard line. The Cowboys iced the game by scoring three times in a span of 2:33 of the fourth quarter. Aikman was 22-for-30 with 273 yards to win Super Bowl XXVII MVP honors. It was the ninth straight victory by the NFC in a Super Bowl. Final Score: 52-17
