Super Bowl XII RecapBetting Odds:
Super Bowl 12 Game Recap Dallas fumbled three times in the first quarter of Super Bowl XII, but got the ball back each time. Denver was not so lucky. The AFC-champion Broncos turned the ball over seven times in the first half, en route to a 27-10 embarrassment at the hands of Dallas in Super Bowl XII. More than 100 million viewers watched the game on television and they all saw a sloppy first half. Dallas scored 10 points off interceptions and built a 13-0 lead before Craig Morton led Denver on a scoring drive. But it was the Doomsday Defense that got the credit, despite Roger Staubach's play. Harvey Martin and Randy White were named co-winners of the Super Bowl XII MVP award after Big D's defense pounced on four fumbles and intercepted four passes. Butch Johnson made a memorable grab, a diving catch for a 45-yard TD pass from Staubach. It put Dallas ahead 20-3 and Super Bowl XII was officially over. Dallas added insult to injury later when running back Robert Newhouse threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Golden Richards seven minutes from the end. Final Score: 27-10
