Sports BettingWeekend Sports Preview
The weekend sports schedule includes three must-bet baseball matchups between up-and-coming pitchers. It gets started on Friday night with the lone non-Interleague matchup between San Francisco and Milwaukee. The Giants send Matt Cain to the hill, as he goes for his tenth win of the season. In his last start Cain dominated the Rangers and allowed only one run on three hits with eight strikeouts in eight innings, but he had to settle for a no-decision. Before that no-decision Cain had won six straight starts. Yovani Gallardo gets the start for Milwaukee. He faced Detroit last time out and took the loss after giving up three runs on six hits in seven innings. He picked up a win over San Francisco in April after holding the Giants to two runs on six hits in 6 2-3 innings. On Saturday night the Mariners and Dodgers throw their young guns at each other in Game 2 of their series. Felix Hernandez gets the start for Seattle, coming off a no-decision against the Diamondbacks. He should have been in line for a win after allowing only two runs on six hits with eight strikeouts in 7 1-3 innings. Even with the no-decision Hernandez hasn’t lost since May 19. The Dodgers turn to young lefty Clayton Kershaw on Saturday. He was brilliant in his last start against the Angels in which he tossed seven shutout innings. The young southpaw has excelled in interleague play with a 1-0 record and a tiny 0.52 ERA in three starts. Finishing off the weekend on Sunday the Marlins and Rays conclude their state rivalry. The Marlins will start lefthander Andrew Miller, who is coming off his best outing of the season against Baltimore. Miller allowed only one run and one hit over seven solid innings. Tampa Bay will send David Price to the hill, and he’ll be looking to bounce back from back-to-back horrific starts. Earlier this week the Phillies blasted Price for 10 runs (five were earned) in only 4 1-3 innings. In his previous start Price was ripped for five runs, all earned, by the Rockies.
