2016 European Championships Futures Odds

Jason Green

Host France has the lowest odds to win the Euro and the last time they hosted a major international tournament in the World Cup in 1998 they hoisted the trophy. Also the last time they hosted the Euro in 1984 they won. This is the first European Championships tournament with an expanded 24 teams. All odds are provided by Bovada Sportsbook.

France +275

France is without the suspended Karim Benzima, but Paul Pogba leads a stacked squad that had the luxury of not having to qualify as the host. Without Benzima finding a striker to take his place on the attack will be a tough task for Coach Didier Deschamps, but the French are solid in all other areas of the pitch. .

Germany +325

Germany is the reigning World Cup champion and they are loaded, but they did not look great in qualifying and they have issues in the back line. They did score 24 goals in qualifying, but conceded nine and in two friendlies leading up to the Euro they lost to England and France. Still, with the likes of GK Manuel Neuer, Mesut Özil, and Bastian Schweinsteiger, and Thomas Müller the Germans are loaded. .

Spain +500

Spain has won the last two European Championships and in qualifying they scored 23 goals and only conceded three. The squad has the best midfield in the tournament and a great GK in David de Gea, but they lack an elite striker. However, they have the talent to win their 3rd title in a row. .

England +800

Is this finally the tournament where the Three Lions put their disappointments in major international competitions to rest? They have a young and very talented squad that went unbeaten in qualifying scoring 31 goals and only conceding three. .

Belgium +1000

Belgium is in the midst of their golden generation and they are loaded with talent on the pitch. They are in a tough group with Italy and their defense may be exposed, especially since they lost captain DF Vincent Kompany to an injury. .

Italy +1400

Italy was not overly impressive in Euro qualifying, but they have young talent, veteran leadership, and they are playing in the weakest group. The defense is their strength led by GK Gianluigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini and they only conceded seven goals in their 10 qualifying matches. .

Portugal +2000

Once again, Portugal will be heavily reliant on FW Cristiano Ronaldo and he is not at 100% as the tournament approaches, which is a major concern. Still, the Portuguese defense is a solid one that only conceded five goals in Euro qualifying. .

Croatia +3000

Croatia is known as a giant-killer and while they can beat the best can they win the whole Euro? There is no lack of talent on the pitch for the Croats and they boast some great world-class players in Luka Modric, Ivan Rakitic, and Mario Mandzukic. .

Austria +3000

Austria was one of the bigger surprises in Euro qualifying, as they won their group, did not suffer any losses, and scored 22 goals and conceded only five. They won their last nine qualifying matches and they play a pressing style, which can give more talented teams problems. .
