Some football bettors don’t even pay attention during the preseason, preferring to wait for the big odds splash for Week 1 each year.

Oh, how they are missing out.

Say what you will about preseason betting – its not ‘real’ football, the ‘real’ players aren’t even in the lineups, ‘real’ bettors wait for the regular season.

Well, there are ‘real’ profits to be made and many of the preseason NFL wagering trends that made money hand over fist last year and holding true this year.

San Diego has a knack of losing at home in the preseason as a favorite. Check.

Those same Chargers have a habit (4-0-1 ATS) of winning on the road as an underdog in the preseason. Check.

So what’s up with the Bolts in Week 3? They are road underdogs in Atlanta, where the Falcons happen to be winless ATS in three seasons at home as a favorite. Hmmmm.

All around us in the first two weeks of August, betting NFL preseason has proven popular and profitable. In Week 3, there are more interesting games on the odds slate that could further boost your balance before September even hits!

Take the Giants/Jets game. Who cares that both teams are at home, the best betting trend involving this annual clash in the Meadowlands is for over under bets. The past eight seasons, the Jets and Giants have played UNDER everytime. They do battle Aug. 29.

In Dallas, the Cowboys ride a long SU winning streak in the preseason while the 49ers ride a long SU losing skid. And in Tampa Bay, many preseason bettors like the UNDER when the Bucs face the Dolphins. Interesting that the UNDER trend has held up 11 of 13 times in recent years.
