Friday marks the opening of the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin, Italy, but since odds are now up at various books you can already start betting on the Olympics.

The rest of the totals were Canada (17), Austria (17), Russia (13), Italy (13), France (11), Switzerland (11), China (8), Holland (8), Finland (7), Sweden (7), and Korea Republic (4).

Norway led the way with 13 gold medals at Salt Lake City, followed by Germany (12), and the United States (10). Canada won seven gold medals back in 2002, Russia won five, and no other country won more than four.
