TCU Horned Frogs +150

TCU's only loss last season was at the hands of Baylor in a wild 61-58 defeat as a seven-point road underdog in early October and despite the fact it rolled over almost everyone it faced from that point on it was enough to keep the Horned Frogs out of the first ever national playoffs. All that means is they will come into this season with a major chip on their shoulder that could pave the way to a national title run. This team is still loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. It all starts with Heisman hopeful quarterback Trevone Boykin running the offense complementing a defense that ended last season ranked eighth in the nation in points allowed (19.0). This year the big test against the Bears will have to wait until the last game of the regular season with TCU playing host to Baylor on Nov. 27.

Baylor Bears +275

Most college football experts would agree that this season's Big 12 title will once again come down to Baylor and TCU and the Bears are confident that they will remain on top. This is another ball club that will be coming into the 2015 season with something to prove to the voters that make up the College Football Playoff Rankings after posting a SU 11-1 record before slipping-up against Michigan State 42-41 in last season's Cotton Bowl Classic as a three-point favorite. Baylor has been quietly gaining support as the Big 12's best team heading into the new season. The void of losing quarterback Bryce Petty has to filled, but the receiving corps led by KD Cannon and Corey Coleman could be one of the best in the nation. Overall, there are 17 starters back from last year's squad which automatically adds some solid value in Baylor's +275 odds to win the Big 12.

Oklahoma Sooners + 550

Oklahoma cannot be too thrilled about being the third wheel in most discussions about the top teams in the Big 12 this season and, with veteran head coach Bob Stoops still at the helm, you know the Sooners will have the ability to do something about it. They ended 2015 with a SU record of 8-5 that included four losses in conference play, so that will be the first thing that will need to get straightened out. The one roadblock to accomplishing this is a trio of games against Baylor, TCU and Oklahoma State to close-out the season. The new-look Sooners will turn to Lincoln Riley as their offense coordinator to try improve a passing offense that was ranked 85th in the nation in yards per game. The good news is that the running game should take care of itself with Samaje Perine still in the backfield. Oklahoma will also have a new defensive coordinator in Diron Reynolds. He will be tasked to improve a unit that fell to 56th in the country in points allowed (25.9).

Texas Longhorns +900

Texas has long been the pride of the Big 12, but it has not been able to live up to those lofty standards in recent years. The Longhorns closed-out last season with a SU losing record (6-7) and they fell into a tie with West Virginia for fifth in the conference at 5-4. This was not the result head coach Charlie Strong was looking for in his first season at the helm, but he also inherited a program that was already in trouble. To turn things around in a big way this season, Texas will build on the solid job its defense did last year while finding a way to get more production from an offense that was ranked way down the list in scoring with an average of just 21.4 points a game. This team is headed in the right direction under Strong's guidance and Texas could quickly close the gap with the top teams in the conference if more than a few things fall its way.
