This upcoming college football season marks the final year of the current BCS ranking system that has been used to determine the top two teams in the country that go on to play in the national title game. Starting with the 2014 season, the NCAA will switch to a four-team playoff to determine the national champion of college football.

The following is a brief breakdown of the top-five contenders to play in this final BCS Championship along with their futures odds to win it all as provided by Bovada.

Alabama Crimson Tide 3/1

When a team competes in the toughest major conference in the country and still takes home three national titles in four seasons, it is little wonder that it gets opened as the odds-on-favorite to win that title again the following season. That is just what Alabama has done over the past four years and is more than poised to keep the dynasty going with a third-straight national title this season.

What makes the Tide the odds-on-favorite to accomplish this feat besides a steady influx into Tuscaloosa of some of the best high school talent in the country, is the expected return of up to 16 starters from last year's team including quarterback AJ McCarron on offense and eight starters from a defense that was ranked first in the nation in points allowed.

Ohio State Buckeyes 13/2

Urban Meyer deserves a ton of credit in his first season as head coach of the Buckeyes for keeping his team focused enough to go 12-0 despite the fact the team was ineligible for postseason play. Now that the NCAA sanctions against the school have been lifted, you know that he will have this team ready for a national title run in 2013.

Ohio State is clearly the class of the Big Ten heading into this season and the fact that nine starters are back on an offense only enhances its odds to win it all. Meyer will have to fill quite a few holes on defense with just four starters back, but that should not be too hard to do with an excellent class of recruits and talented underclassmen to choose from.

Texas A&M Aggies 13/2

The emergence of Mr. Football Johnny Manzeil was a story all on its own last season in the Aggies run to an 11-2 mark that included a stunning victory over Alabama on the road last season. The problem is that Texas A&M is not going to sneak-up on anyone in its second season in the highly competitive SEC.

There is no doubt that Manzeil is a true talent at quarterback, but as the pressure continues to mount to surpass last season's 3,706 yards passing and 1,409 yards on the ground, it remains to be seen how last year's Heisman Trophy winner will hold up in just his second season as the team's starter.

Oregon Ducks 7/1

Chip Kelly built Oregon into a national power during his tenure as head coach, but now that he has moved on to coach Philadelphia in the NFL, the Ducks will be under the gun to keep things moving in the right direction. The other issue hanging over the program is impending sanctions expected to be handed down by the NCAA any day now for past recruiting violations that could make these odds a moot point if Oregon is hit with a postseason ban for this season.

None the less, the Ducks will press on with nine starters back on offense from last season's 12-1 squad and seven back on the defensive side of the ball. Quarterback Marcus Mariota is primed for a big year after being named All-Conference in the Pac-12 last season. Another plus is a defensive secondary that remains basically intact.

Georgia Bulldogs 14/1

Georgia has a somewhat clearer path to the SEC title game, but somewhere along the line it will most likely still have to get past Alabama to have a shot at winning a national title. It almost pull-off the upset last season in a four-point loss to the Tide in the conference championship on its way to a 12-2 campaign.

The Bulldogs will have a wealth of talent back on an offense that ended 2012 ranked 19th in the nation in scoring with an average of 37.8 points a game. Quarterback Aaron Murray will once again be under center after passing for 3,893 yards and 36 touchdowns last season. There will be some holes to fill on the other side of the ball with just five starters back on defense.

The odds to win a BCS title for the next five teams to fill out Bovada's' top 10 are Stanford at 16/1, LSU at 18/1, Florida at 20/1, Louisville at 22/1 and Clemson at 25/1.
