<p>
It’s the 85-71 Baltimore Orioles versus the 86-70 Toronto Blue Jays in the first game of a three game set in Toronto, Ontario tonight. The first pitch at Rogers Center is scheduled for 7:07 PM ET.
</p>
<p>
In their last game the Orioles beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 2-1. The game was a pitcher’s duel with a total of only nine hits in the game and the difference was Hyun Soo Kim’s two run HR in the 2nd inning. In their last game the Blue Jays lost to the New York Yankees 7-5. In that game there were two instances where the benches cleared a testy contest that the Yankees won scoring five runs in the 9th inning.
</p>
<p>
The Orioles are coming off a three game sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks and while it is very unlikely they will catch the Boston Red Sox, who they trail by seven games in the AL East, they are in the 2nd AL Wild Card spot two games up on the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners. Baltimore ranks 10th in the Majors in runs scored and 20th in team ERA.
</p>
<p>
The Blue Jays had their three game winning streak snapped in the loss to the Yankees in their last game. They are six games back of the Red Sox in the AL East and hold the top AL Wild Card one game up on the Orioles. Toronto ranks 7th in both runs scored and team ERA.

Pitching Match Up<br />
</h2>
<p>
Baltimore: Kevin Gausman (8-11, 3.57 ERA)<br />
Toronto: Anibal Sanchez (13-2, 3.12 ERA)
</p>
<p>
Kevin Gausman goes for the Orioles tonight and in his last outing he was lit up for five earned runs in six innings in a 5-2 loss to the Red Sox. Baltimore has lost two of his last three starts. While the Orioles are 5-2 in their last seven games with Gausman on the hill they are only 7-21 in his last 28 road starts. Baltimore has lost the two games this season with Gausman getting the start facing the Blue Jays and in his last start against them he only lasted three innings and gave up six earned runs in a 6-5 Toronto win.
</p>
<p>
Anibal Sanchez takes the mound for the Blue Jays and in his last outing he gave up only one earned run in six innings, but he got little support in a 2-1 loss to the Seattle Mariners. Toronto has lost his last three starts. Sanchez is 3-0 with an ERA of 3.38 in four starts against the Orioles this season. The Blue Jays are 7-3 in Sanchez’s last 10 home starts.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

There is a good chance these teams will meet in the AL Wild Card play-in game. The Orioles have been led by their lineup this season, but their pitching was the main reason they swept the Diamondbacks in their last series giving up a total of four runs in the three games. The Blue Jays’ pitching has also been solid as of late, as their last game was their first in their last six where they gave up more than three runs. Their offense has also been solid as of late scoring 21 runs in their last four games. Toronto has roughed up Gausman this season and look for that to continue tonight north of the border, as the Blue Jays will take the first game of this big division series.
