The world's top golfers will be gunning for the legendary green jacket when the 70th Masters tees off this Thursday at Augusta National Golf Club.

Golf bettors will also be gunning for something green this weekend. However, the green they're after is made of paper and is adorned with the pictures of presidents.

Many of those bettors will be laying their cash on defending Masters champion Tiger Woods, who will be looking to snag his fifth green jacket. If Woods were to win this weekend, he would have one jacket less than his boyhood idol, Jack Nicklaus.

Currently, Woods, who already has three PGA victories this season, is the favorite to win this year's Masters. He opened at +300 at most online sportsbooks.

Although the favorite, there are some questions surrounding Woods, who has spent a lot of time recently with his ailing father, who is battling cancer.

Two weeks ago, Woods missed the final practice round of the TPC at Sawgrass in order to be with 74-year-old Earl Woods.

Tiger is extremely close to his dad and his condition could be a distraction this weekend. Furthermore, Woods has suggested he would leave Augusta to be with him in the event his health worsens.

Because of this, some golf bettors looking to lay bets on the Masters may opt to put their money on Phil Mickelson.

The 2004 Masters champion enters the tournament after defending his title at the BellSouth Classic last weekend in Duluth, Georgia.

Mickelson led the BellSouth from wire-to-wire finishing with a 28-under par 260, a new tournament record. He beat second-place finishers Jose Maria Olazabal and Zach Johnson by a career-high 13 strokes.

At most online sportsbooks, Mickelson opened with the second-best odds to win the Masters at +600 to +650.

Those interested in golf wagering may also want to consider betting on Ernie Els. The two-time Masters runner-up has odds of about +800 to +1100.

Meanwhile, 2002 runner-up Retief Goosen checks in at +1100 to +1200, and 2000 Masters champion Vijay Singh is listed at +1200 to +1400.
