NHL Hockey BettingNHL Who’s Hot and Who's Not The San Jose Sharks have continued their run up the Western Conference standings lately and it's been a highly profitable run for bettors. The Sharks have registered a least one point in each of their last 15 games while posting a 14-0-1 record. San Jose has won their last three games, and before an overtime loss to Edmonton last week they had won 11 straight. The Sharks' hot streak has bumped them up to first place in the Pacific Division, and has them seven points back of Detroit for the conference lead with seven games left. Coming up for San Jose this week is four games in six days versus Phoenix, Dallas, Anaheim and Phoenix again. The Carolina Hurricanes have needed wins to hold onto their playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Despite a rash of injuries the Hurricanes have been winning, with three straight W's and an 8-1 record in their last nine games. Carolina holds a five-point lead over Washington in the Southeast division and can practically clinch the division if they can defeat the Caps when they clash on Tuesday night. Also on the Hurricanes' schedule this week is Atlanta and Tampa Bay. The Phoenix Coyotes have almost played themselves out of playoff contention in the Western Conference after losing their last five games. The Coyotes' troubles go back more than five games, as they have only three wins in their last 10 contests. The Coyotes have a difficult week ahead with a game against Los Angeles sandwiched between two contests against San Jose. The only team playing worse than Phoenix right now might be the Atlanta Thrashers. The Thrashers have also dropped their last five games, and they only have two wins in their last 10 contests. Atlanta's recent goal shortage has continued as they have been outscored 20-10 in their last five games. Atlanta has two road games this week at Florida and Carolina.
