The St. Louis Rams will try and end what little playoff hopes remain for the Seattle Seahawks when the two face-off in an NFC West tilt this Monday night at CenturyField in Seattle. The game is set to kick-off at 8:30 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.
St. Louis' s season never got off the ground and after numerous injuries and shoddy play in every phase of the game, it comes into this matchup at 2-10 both straight-up and against the spread. The latest disaster was a 26-0 shutout at the hands of San Francisco this past Sunday as a 14-point road underdog. The total stayed ‘under' the 38.5-point line and has now stayed ‘under' in seven of its 12 games this year.
The Rams' offense is one of the worst in the NFL across the board with an average of less than 300 yards a game and just 11.7 points and that is with quarterback Sam Bradford in the lineup. He remains questionable for Monday night after missing last week' s game with an ankle injury. Their defense is ranked last against the run which should set the Seahawks' Marshawn Lynch up for another big game. Last Thursday night, Lynch torched Philadelphia for 148 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. St. Louis is ranked 24th in the league in points allowed; giving-up an average of 24.7 points a game.
Seattle comes into this game at 5-7 SU and a respectable 7-4-1 ATS. It has won three of its last four games including a 22-17 victory over Baltimore as a seven-point home underdog and a 31-14 romp of Philadelphia as a three-point home dog. The total has gone ‘over' in seven of its 12 games this season.
The Seahawks are ranked 28th in the NFL in total yards per game and 26th in scoring with an average of 18 points a game, but their defense has done a good job at keeping opposing teams out of the end zone by holding them to an average of only 20.5 points a game. They have been especially tough to score on at home; giving-up an average of just 18 points in their last three games at CenturyField.
St. Louis is 2-4 ATS in its last six games overall and 1-4 ATS in its last five games on the road. The total has stayed ‘under' in seven of its last nine games.
Seattle is 4-1 ATS in its last five games and 4-2 ATS in its last six home games. The total has gone ‘over' in four of its last seven games.
Head-to-head, the Seahawks have won nine of the last 10 games SU and are 8-2 ATS. The total has stayed ‘under' in four of the last five meetings.
Point Spread Pick
could be the best play in this matchup, but stick with Seattle to continue its dominance in this series with a big win at home.
