All Joe wants for Christmas is a perfect week of picks. I didn?t get it in Week 15 after going 2-1-1 ATS. I connected with the Ravens and the Browns, but missed the mark on the Saints. The push came on the Patriots at 7 points. I?m still under .500 for the season, and with the playoffs on the horizon I?ll likely need at least one perfect week the rest of the way to finish in the black.
San Diego at Tennessee
The NFL's Christmas present to the fans this year is this tilt between San Diego and Tennessee. The Titans have won five straight at home, but I?m not laying my money on them. One reason is because Tennessee is 3-2 ATS in those five games. The Chargers have been road warriors this season with a 6-1 record and a five-game winning streak away from San Diego. They?re also 4-1 ATS during their streak. Also in their favor is that the Chargers have never lost to the Titans; they?re 5-0 both SU and ATS. Make it 6-0 on Christmas and take San Diego +3.
Tampa Bay at New Orleans
The Saints had their perfect season cracked last week, but they should easily return to their winning ways this weekend against the Bucs. However, they won?t cover the spread. For some reason the Buccaneers are killer ATS when they visit New Orleans. In their last six games at the Superdome the Bucs are only 2-4 SU, but they?re 5-1 ATS. New Orleans has dropped three straight ATS and that will hit four this weekend. Take Tampa Bay +14.
St. Louis at Arizona
The underdog train continues with the Rams at the Cardinals. Arizona has won six straight versus the Rams, but they?re 2-4 ATS. St. Louis is the opposite, having lost six straight overall lately, while going 4-2 ATS; that includes covering last week versus Houston as a 14-point dog. After the Cardinals barely got past Detroit last week I?ve lost a lot of faith in them. They should win, but they won?t cover. Take St. Louis +14.
Dallas at Washington
This NFC East rivalry is an interesting one. Because of that, even though Dallas toppled the Saints last week I?ll put my money on Washington. In their last six versus Dallas the Redskins are 5-1 ATS. That includes their 7-6 loss to Dallas in Week 11. In their last four at home the ?Skins are 3-1 both SU and ATS. In five of the last six meetings between Washington and Dallas the game has been decided by five points or less. Expect another close one this weekend, so take Washington +7.
Season Results:
SU: 44-17
ATS: 27-31-2
