After a recent loss in Chicago, Philadelphia (8-4, 6-6 ATS) got back on track with a 34-24 win over Houston last week. It was the Eagles' fourth win in five games, and they improved to 3-1 ATS over their last four outings.

The offense continues to be explosive and dominant. After two weeks of observers wondering if a way to at least slow Michael Vick had been discovered, the quarterback exploded for 302 passing yards and two touchdowns while adding another 48 yards and a score on the ground. LeSean McCoy continues to be the offense's unsung hero; the diminutive running back racked up 130 yards from scrimmage and a pair of touchdowns.

Defensively, the Eagles still have some work to do. The team is allowing 23 points per game, much too high for a true Super Bowl contender. There's no particular glaring hole to fill; overall, the unit just needs to come up with a few more stops. It ranks first in interceptions, eighth in sacks and fourth in fewest runs of 20-plus yards allowed. There's no shortage of big plays.

Dallas (4-8, 5-7 ATS) won for the third time in four games last week, topping Indianapolis 38-35 on the road. Even more impressive, the Cowboys covered for the fourth consecutive game.

Putting up points has been relatively easy over the last month, even without Tony Romo under center. Dallas is averaging 33 points per game during the winning streak. A commitment to the running game played a major role in the victory over Indianapolis. Tashard Choice and Felix Jones combined for 183 yards on 41 carries, giving the Cowboys the balance they've lacked all season. Jon Kitna is still solid enough that, if he gets ground support, he can make a few big plays. Unfortunately, he'll have to do it without Dez Bryant, who is done for the year with a foot injury.

On the other side of the ball, Dallas is still giving up far too many points-but at least it is making some impact plays. The Cowboys came up with four takeaways against Indy last week, including a pair of picks that were returned for scores. Still, Dallas has allowed 30 and 35 points over the last two weeks to big-time offenses-the Colts and Saints. Philly definitely belongs in a category with those two squads.

Dallas is 6-4 (5-5 ATS) in its last 10 games against the Eagles. The Cowboys absolutely embarrassed the Eagles last season, beating them three times-going 3-0 against the spread-including a win in the playoffs. Dallas won the last two games by a total of 58-14.
