The Philadelphia Eagles will try and keep the life-support machines running on their NFC East title hopes with a victory over the Dallas Cowboys this Saturday in a classic division rivalry at Cowboys Stadium. The game is slated to get underway at 4:15 p.m. and it will be broadcast nationally on FOX.
Philadelphia has won its last two games to go to 6-8 straight-up (6-8 against the spread) and the only reason it has any chance to still win the East has been the overall mediocre play this season by all four teams in the division. It is coming off an impressive 45-19 beatdown of the New York Jets as a three-point home favorite in a game that went way ‘over' the total line of 44. The total has gone ‘over' in eight of its 14 games this season.
The return of Michael Vick, after missing three games with broken ribs, has definitely sparked the offense over the past two weeks, but running back LeSean McCoy remains the unit' s MVP with 1,274 yards rushing and 17 touchdowns on the ground. The Eagles' defense is also playing much better; holding the Dolphins and the Jets to a combined 29 points in its last two games.
Dallas is coming off a much-needed 31-15 romp over Tampa Bay this past Saturday night as a seven-point road favorite. This followed back-to-back losses to Arizona and New York (Giants) in games it should have easily won. The Cowboys are 8-6 SU (5-8-1 ATS) and the total has stayed ‘under' in eight of their 14 games.
Led by Tony Romo' s 249 yards passing and three touchdowns, Dallas was able to eliminate most of the bad mistakes that cost it the last two games in the win over Tampa. Romo has now thrown eight touchdowns verse no interceptions in his last three games. Felix Jones has over 100 yards rushing in each of his last two games since returning to the starting lineup for the injured DeMarco Murray.
The Eagles are 3-2 ATS in their last five games overall and 4-3 ATS in their last seven games on the road. The total has gone ‘over' in three of its last four games.
The Cowboys are 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall and 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games. The total has stayed ‘under' in three of its four games.
Head-to-head, Philadelphia slammed Dallas 34-7 earlier this season as a three-point home favorite with the total staying ‘under' the 49-point line. It has now won two of the last three meetings both SU and ATS overall and is 3-2 ATS in its last five trips to Big D.
