New York (9-2, 7-4 ATS) finally managed to beat a team without scoring in the game's dying moments. The Jets beat Cincinnati 26-10 last Thursday, covering as a 10-point favorite. It extended their win streak to four games, though they're just 2-2 ATS in that span.

It was nice to see the "D" play up to its reputation. New York hasn't been bad, per se, but over its last three wins the Jets allowed 20, 20 and 27 points-not what you'd expect from an "elite" unit, especially with Detroit and Cleveland thrown in there. New York held the Bengals to just 163 yards while forcing three turnovers and three sacks. Terrell Owens talked a big game before the match up, but Darrell Revis held him to just 17 yards on three catches.

While the defense wasn't playing up to par, the offense was suddenly developing into a dangerous unit. Since getting shut out by the Packers, New York is averaging 26 points per game. Santonio Holmes has quickly become the favorite target of quarterback Mark Sanchez; during the four-game winning streak, Holmes has 22 catches for 360 yards and four touchdowns. Coupled with the NFL's second-ranked rushing attack, and suddenly the Jets have a very formidable offense.

New England (9-2, 6-4-1 ATS) has won three straight games-including victories over Indianapolis and Pittsburgh. Last week, the Patriots dismantled Detroit 45-24, covering as a 6.5-point favorite. The Pats are 2-1 ATS during their winning streak.

The offense is firing on all cylinders. Tom Brady has led New England to an average of 38 points over the last three games. Much like New England's formula during its Super Bowl years, the club is relying on Brady and a mixture of unknowns to get the job done. Danny Woodhead and BenJarvus Green Ellis have carried the rushing attack while a collection of diminutive receivers work downfield. Brady, though, is the key. He's thrown 13 touchdown passes and zero interceptions in his last six games.

It's a good thing the offense is rolling, though, because the "D" just isn't very good. New England is allowing 24 points per game, ranked 22nd in the NFL. The Patriots have been a nightmare against the pass-at least statistically. They're allowing 288 yards per game through the air, but they still make their fair share of big plays; in the past three games-two against Ben Roethlisberger and Peyton Manning, mind you-New England has six interceptions and seven sacks.

New England is 6-4 (5-5 ATS) in its last 10 games against the Jets, though New York won 28-14 when they met in September. The victory was especially impressive considering Holmes didn't play and Revis was injured in the first quarter. The total went over; BetUS.com has set the total for Monday's game at 45.5 points.
