Arizona owned the most dominant trend heading into the Divisional Playoff round.
They had covered the spread 10 in a row as an underdog, but got hammered by the Saints 45-14.
The Colts owned the biggest head-to-head domination trend, boasting a 7-game win streak against the Ravens and the kept that NFL betting train a rollin' with a 20-3 win (which also had UNDER bettors happily pocketing cash).
And a fashionable underdog pick won outright on the West Coast as the Jets - straight-up winners in seven of their past nine games as a dog - pulled the upset again at San Diego.
All in all, it was a real dog's breakfast for football systems handicappers. While three of four favorites covered, the square betting public had a tough time because many bet on Arizona to cover in New Orleans and bet on the Cowboys to win at Minnesota.
Underdogs had been 17-7 ATS in 24 games, but they were just 1-3 ATS. And the 10-2 ATS road team angle also fell apart with three home teams dominating and only the Jets winning as visitors.
The conference finals shape up with a few unimpressive general trends. Home teams are 6-2 SU the past four seasons, according to online sportsbook BetUS.com.
And OVER bettors have cashed regularly with 8 of the past 10 games eclipsing the NFL betting total set by oddsmakers.
The home teams are favored as the Colts opened as 7.5-point chalk (although bodog opened at -8, apparently inviting action on the overmatched Jets) and the Saints opened as 4.5-point favorites to Brett Favre's Vikings.
