Saints vs. Seahawks Game Overview

The Saints come into this matchup well-rested after last Thursday's 17-13 squeaker over Atlanta as 7.5-point road favorites. They are now 9-2 straight-up on the year but after going 1-2-1 against the spread in their last four games, their overall record ATS is 6-4-1. The total has stayed UNDER in their last two games after going OVER in their previous four outings.

Other then its 49-17 rout of Dallas in Week 10 as a six-point home favorite, New Orleans has not looked as dominant as it did earlier in the season especially in a six-point loss to Jets on the road on Nov. 3 and in last Sunday's four-point win over the fading Falcons. This is a different team outside the Metrodome which could spell bad news for Monday night. The offense is ranked third in the NFL in scoring with 27.7 points a game, but it has only averaged 21.2 points a game in five previous road games.

Seattle not only gets to play this game at home, it has had two weeks to prepare for this showdown coming off a bye. When we last saw the Seahawks in action they were cruising past Minnesota 41-20 as 13-point home favorites. They are 10-1 SU on the year and 7-4 ATS with the total going OVER in six of their last eight games.

The Seahawks are the complete package with an offense that is ranked third in the NFL in rushing (147.9 yards) and averaging 27.8 points a game, which is the second-highest total in the league. The defense has been even more dominant, especially against the pass where it is ranked second in yards allowed (180.4). This could be a key matchup considering that the Saints have had major trouble running the ball this year. Seattle is also ranked second in the league in points allowed (16.3).

New Orleans vs. Seattle Betting Trends

The Saints are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 2-3-1 ATS in their last six games overall. The total has gone OVER in four of their last six games on the road.

The Seahawks are 13-5 ATS in their last 18 games overall and 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games at home. The total has gone OVER in three of their last four home games.

Head-to-head in this matchup, New Orleans is just 2-4 both SU and ATS in its last six games against Seattle and the total has gone OVER in the last three meetings.

Total Line Pick

Everything points towards Seattle covering the five points at home in this matchup and I honestly do not think you can go wrong with that pick, but the top play for Monday night remains the UNDER on the total line given the Saints recent scoring trends on the road.
