Miami couldn't duplicate their playoff appearance in '08 and fell to 7-9 last season. Buffalo's playoff drought reached 10 years with a 6-10 record in '09.
The Dolphins have RB Ronnie Brown back from injury and added WR Brandon Marshall in the offseason. They will face a defense transitioning to a 3-4 minus key players to play this defense. Look for QB Chad Henne to make plays off of play-action as Miami is committed to establishing the run. Buffalo ranked 30th vs. the run last year and should struggle in that area again this year. RB Ricky Williams ran for 1,100+ yards last season and he'll get plenty of carries as well. Buffalo lacks a proven pass rusher and that could allow Henne to have his choice of receivers.
Buffalo's offense will center on dynamic rookie RB C.J. Spiller. He has home-run speed and the Dolphins will need to account for him on the ground and through the air. Miami will start two rookies in the front seven and while new Def. Co. Mike Nolan is a great coach, look for some struggles. The Fish also lack a proven pass rusher. QB Trent Edwards has proven in the past that he can be accurate when given time but he must shake the "Captain Checkdown" moniker he has acquired. Look for speedy WR Lee Evans to be a target is Spiller can move the chains on the ground.
Both of these teams have questions on defense. They also have RBs that can make a defense pay for mistakes. Both games in this series went over last year and we feel that recent trend will continue in this contest.
