Free Carolina Panthers vs. Denver Broncos Prediction

The Broncos just don't give up a lot of points with only New England and Pittsburgh scoring over 20 points against them in their last nine games. The Panthers have allowed over 20 points three times in their last 10 games but all three of the opponents had superior passing attacks compared to Denver's unit. Both teams have proven that they need to stick with a game shortening running attack to have any shot at winning.

Free Total Pick: Take the UNDER 44.5 -RC

Super Bowl 50 Game Prediction

The Broncos may be the sentimental pick with Manning at the helm, but the best team usually wins this game and I have the Panthers holding up the Vince Lombardi Trophy on Feb. 7 while covering the 4.5 points at the betting window.

Free Pick: Take the Carolina Panthers -4.5 -DS

Game Date: Sunday Jan 24, 2016

NFC Championship: Cardinals at Panthers ATS Pick

The Panthers are 9-0 SU at home this year and 8-1 ATS. They also lead the NFL in scoring and score even more at home. They can score in bunches (as evidenced by last week) and their defense scores points and sets up the offense with short fields. Arizona is 7-1 SU on the road this year and will certainly be a tough out. Both of these defenses are good but the Panthers are a little better. Arizona has a better offense but Palmer was shaky at times last week. He can expect a lot of pressure in this encounter and doesn't move real well in the pocket. The number is pretty low and I'll take a Carolina team that is unbeatable at home this year and has a defense that can control the game even if the offense has a few hiccups.

ATS Prediction: Take the Carolina Panthers -3 - JS

Cardinals at Panthers Game Prediction

This should be a great matchup between two of the highest scoring teams in the NFL this season. While I am not sure which team will eventually come out on top this time around, I see both of these offenses lighting things up enough to take the total OVER the 47-point betting line.

Free Pick: Take the OVER 47 -DS

Patriots at Broncos Game Prediction

The Patriots quickly returned to form against Kansas City after stumbling down the stretch of the regular season, but I like Denver getting points at home in this matchup. Manning gives the Broncos the stability they need on offense and their defense should be able to keep Brady in check at Mile High.

Free Pick: Take the Denver Broncos +3 -DS

Game Date: Sunday Jan 17, 2016

Steelers at Broncos Game Prediction

It is pretty obvious that Pittsburgh is banged-up verse a Denver team that has had two weeks to prepare for this rematch. However, the biggest factor in my book is still Manning under center with a shot at redemption for a less than stellar performance in the regular season. This is the stuff that legend is made of making the Broncos minus the points my "best bet" pick.

Free Pick: Take the Denver Broncos -6.5 -DS

Free NFC Divisional Seahawks at Panthers ATS Pick

This figures to be a classic battle. Seattle is the 2-time defending NFC champ while Carolina is the 3-time winner of the NFC South division. Both teams have great defenses and great QBs but I have to side with the Panthers this week. Their offense is better than Seattle's and they can ground and pound or throw it deep. Newton has played at a high level all year and while his passing numbers are a shade below Wilson's, he's been great at home and his power running can wear on a defense. The Panthers have had a week off to get healthy while the Seahawks offense did nothing in the frigid temperature of Minnesota. I think Carolina's ability to create TOs will play a crucial role in the outcome and the betting number is less than a FG.

ATS Prediction: Take the Panthers -2.5 - JS

Game Date: Saturday Jan 16, 2016

Kansas City Chiefs at New England Patriots Point Spread Pick

The Chiefs have the pass rush to cause Brady fits, especially if RT Vollmer is unable to go, but the return of WR Julien Edelman in the slot and having RB James White out of the back field will be the difference maker. The Patriots are 7-1 at home this season winning all 7 by a greater number than this line.

Free ATS Pick: Take the New England Patriots -5 points and a half unit play on the UNDER 43.5 -RC

Free AFC Divisional Game ATS Pick

Kansas City has won 7 times away from home this year so a road trip to Foxboro isn't likely to shake them. Half the battle in playing the Patriots is to not be afraid of them, something most teams are. The Chiefs are riding high during their winning streak and got contributions from the offense, defense and special teams against the Texans. For the year, they have allowed 25 TD passes but have picked off 26. I expect the Patriots to have trouble running the ball and that means a lot of throws from Brady. The Chiefs have a good pass rush and a good secondary and I don't see them being passed on up and down the field all game. In what figures to be a close game, I'll take the red-hot Chiefs knowing the Patriots are getting several injured starters back. New England finished the year on a 2-4 run and I think their offense will have trouble with this defense. If Kelce can match Gronk, that will be another factor in keeping it close for KC.

ATS Prediction: Take the Cheifs +5 - JS

Packers at Cardinals Game Prediction

I took the bait last week and went against the Packers, but this is going to be a much tougher road trip for a team that still has some issues on both sides of the ball that were very evident in their recent loss to Arizona. The Cardinals remain one of the most complete teams in the NFL this season and that will be reflected in another SU win against Green Bay that covers the touchdown spread.

Free Pick: Take the Arizona Cardinals -7 -DS

Game Date: Sunday Jan 10, 2016

Packers at Redskins Game Prediction

Green Bay's recent form has raised some serious doubts about its ability to go deep in this year's playoffs. This sets the stage for the surprising Redskins to keep their current run going with the SU win on Sunday that covers the one-point spread.

Free Pick: Take the Washington Redskins -1 -DS

Seattle Seahawks at Minnesota Vikings ATS Pick

On paper this game doesn't appear to be close. Seattle finished 10-6 but is clearly playing their best ball of the season. The return of Lynch will help the offense as will the return off SS Kam Chancellor. Bridgewater threw only 9 picks on the year but he only tossed 14 TD passes. The Seattle defense surrendered 14 TD passes but also had 14 interceptions (10 in the last 6 games). Wilson is playing at a level few expected as he has quickly risen from a 'running' QB who handed the ball off to Beast Mode to a QB who threw for 4,024 yards and 34 TDs (to only 8 interceptions). The advantage the Seahawks have at QB is huge and they have the best defense as well. The Vikings need to pressure Wilson consistently throughout the game, get 100+ plus yards out of Peterson and for Bridgewater to play at a near-perfect level. I don't expect all three of those things to happen and like Seattle to be an easy winner on the road, where they have won their last 5 decisions.

ATS Prediction: Take the Seattle Seahawks -5 - JS

Pittsburgh at Cincinnati Game Prediction

There is little doubt that these two teams are very familiar with one another, which could give the slight edge to the home team. I still see Cincinnati ending its streak of playoff losses with the SU win, but I am not willing to bet on it. Instead, I am going with the OVER 47 on the total line as my "best bet" pick in this one.

Free Pick: Take the Over 47 -DS

Kansas City at Houston ATS Pick

The Chiefs' defense is playing at a high level right now and hasn't allowed any opponent to reach 23 points since Week 4. The return of Houston is bound to help the pass rush and Hoyer may need to throw the ball quicker than he would like. I think Kansas City can do enough offensively to get into the end zone and if they can take Hopkins away on defense, they'll force the Texans to try to make big plays with players who haven't done much on the season. It has been a good year for Houston but I'll take the Chiefs in this one as their offense and defense are both playing well at this stage.

ATS Prediction: Take the Kansas City Chiefs -3.5 - JS

Game Date: Sunday Jan 3, 2016

Oakland Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs Prediction

The Chiefs got a 34-20 victory in their earlier match up, but the score doesn't accurately reflect the game. The Raiders held a 6-point lead going into the fourth quarter before the Chiefs got two offensive scores to take the lead and a late pick 6 for a TD. Oakland out yarded Kansas City 361-232 in this tight affair that could have easily gone the other way. The Chiefs have a shot to improve their playoff position and while I think that they will get the win the point spread is a different story. Kansas City has scored an adequate 23.75 points per game in their last four, but they have managed just 274 yards per game and have been fortunate to reach those scoring numbers. That gives the visitor some value here getting 7 from a team who has not moved the ball well for weeks.

Free Pick: Take the Oakland Raiders +7 -CK

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers Prediction

You have to give credit to Minnesota for turning the NFC North into a legitimate race this season following Green Bay's fast start, but the rubber meets the road at Lambeau Field this Sunday night with the Packers coming out on top both SU and ATS.

Free Pick: Take the Green Bay Packers -3 -DS

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans Prediction

Time and time this season, Jacksonville has proved it is never out of the game no matter how slow its starts out of the gate. While I would have to lean towards Houston in this matchup given what is on the line, my "best bet" pick in on BetOnline's 46-point total line with a play on the OVER.

Free Pick: Take the OVER 46 -DS

New York Jets at Buffalo Bills Prediction

The Bills would love to play the role of spoiler against their bitter rivals, but I do not see them getting the chance. New York is playing its best ball at the right time of the year, so I am laying the 2.5 points on the road with a "best bet" pick of the Jets covering.

Free Pick: Take the NY Jets -2.5 -DS

Game Date: Monday Dec 28, 2015

Cincinnati Bengals at Denver Broncos Prediction

This matchup should be a real grinder that is dictated by each team's defense. Scoring will be at a premium and despite the fact that the total is already set unusually low at 40.5, I am going to take BetOnline's bait with a "best bet" play on the UNDER.

Free Pick: Take the Over 40.5 -DS

Game Date: Sunday Dec 27, 2015

Free Chicago at Tampa Bay ATS Pick

Neither of these teams is playing well right now but the Colts still have a legitimate shot at the playoffs. Miami's season ended several weeks ago. In their last 6 losses the Dolphins are allowing an average of 32 ppg. Indy was routed by Pittsburgh and Jacksonville before last week's tough loss. If the Colts open up the offense, they should be able to make plays against a team that is just waiting for the season to end.

ATS Prediction: Take the Tampa Bay Buccaneers -3.5 - JS

Free Indianapolis at Miami ATS Pick

Neither of these teams is playing well right now but the Colts still have a legitimate shot at the playoffs. Miami's season ended several weeks ago. In their last 6 losses the Dolphins are allowing an average of 32 ppg. Indy was routed by Pittsburgh and Jacksonville before last week's tough loss. If the Colts open up the offense, they should be able to make plays against a team that is just waiting for the season to end.

ATS Prediction: Take the Indianapolis Colts +2.5 - JS

Free Pittsburgh at Baltimore ATS Pick

Six of the previous eight meetings between these heated rivals have been decided by 3 points or less including the earlier game this season. I don't see history repeating itself this week. Baltimore has been outscored 69-20 in the past two games as injuries have finally kept the team from fielding a competitive roster, especially on offense. HC John Harbaugh's teams always compete but the talent just isn't there. Pittsburgh is marching toward a playoff spot and can't afford a slipup here. Roethlisberger and the passing offense will be just too much for the Ravens to handle.

ATS Prediction: Take the Pittsburgh Steelers -10 - JS

Dallas Cowboys at Buffalo Bills Prediction

The Bills are beat up on the defensive line and at LB and it has shown allowing 130.75 yards per game. over their last four. They've now allowed eight of their last nine opponents to run for more than 100 yards after holding four of the first five to fewer than 100 and all five to 102 or fewer. That could be an issue this week facing one of the better offensive lines in the NFL and this running game seems to be getting on track running for 133 yards against the very good run defense of the Jets last week. They'll have Kellen Moore behind center making his first start of his career, but the Cowboys didn't hold back on the play calling with Moore throwing 25 passes, so I don't think that Dallas will have him playing conservative against the Bills if they stack the box. Buffalo will be going up against a defense that has proven that they can stop the run on the road allowing 99.4 yards per game and will likely be without their top RB LeSean McCoy. That will put a lot of pressure on their passing offense which is short handed with their No. 2 WR Robert Woods out TE Charles Clay iffy to play.

Free Pick: Take the Dallas Cowboys +6 at 5Dimes -CK

Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Prediction

Some may figure that this is a good match up for the Bucs' offense with the Bears ranking 26th in run defense, but they've shown signs of turning it around holding their last two opponents to 3.6 or less yards per carry. Chicago has also gone under the radar with most with their past defense ranking third in the league allowing just 216 yards passing per game. The offense is an entirely different story for the Bears. They've scored a game high 21 points in their last five averaging 18 per game and on the season this unit has scored greater than 23 points just twice. They'll face a defense that has allowed 27 points per game at home, but they've improved on their scoring defense over their last four at Raymond James Stadium allowing 20.25 PPG. That number drops even more when you remove the 6 points scored by the Giants on fumble return on the last play of the game. Tampa Bay's problem has been with turnovers with 21 on the season and short fields and pick 6's skews their defensive scoring stats. That may not come into play with the Bears coming up with just 14 takeaways this season.

Free Pick: Take the UNDER 46 available at Bovada -CK

New York Giants at Minnesota Vikings Prediction

The Giants could be out of playoff contention by the time this game is played if Washington beats Philadelphia on Saturday night, but even if they are still alive in the NFC East title race it will be tough to come away with a SU road win against the Vikings. What I do like is New York's chances to cover with the six points even if Beckham remains out of the lineup. This team still has a way of keeping games close to the end and that should be the case again this Sunday night.

Free Pick: Take the Giants +6 -DS

Game Date: Thursday Dec 24, 2015

San Diego Chargers at Oakland Raiders Prediction

The Chargers lost the first meeting this season 37-29 as 3.5-point home favorites and I see them going down again on Thursday night against a division rival that is much hungrier for a win. Lay the five points in this one with a play on Oakland pulling off the season sweep both SU and ATS.

Free Pick: Take the Raiders -5 -DS

Game Date: Monday Dec 21, 2015

Detroit Lions at New Orleans Saints Prediction

There is nothing on the line in this game for either team except for pride, which could actually set-up a pretty entertaining matchup. I look for both Stafford and Brees to light things up through the air in a game that goes OVER the current 50.5-point total line.

Free Pick: Take the Over 50.5 -DS

Game Date: Sunday Dec 20, 2015

Arizona Cardinals at Philadelphia Eagles Prediction

There are the legitimate playoff teams in the NFC and the ones in the NFC East fighting to get into the playoffs. Arizona is still not in a position where it can takes its foot off the gas as one of the top two seeds in the NFC so look for the Cardinals to continue to roll in a road victory that easily covers the 3.5-point spread.

Free Pick: Take the Arizona Cardinals at -3.5 -DS

Free Kansas City at Baltimore ATS Pick

Kansas City, like the Jets, controls their own fate on the road to the playoffs. They host the Browns and Raiders in the next 2 weeks and can't afford to overlook the Ravens. Under HC John Harbaugh, Baltimore always plays hard but they are very limited right now. I expect the Chiefs to control the clock with their ground game and quick-passing attack. The Ravens are -12 in TOs while KC is +12 and I look for the Chiefs to convert some TOs into points and to get a tough cover on the road.

ATS Prediction: Take the Kansas City Chiefs -7.5 - JS

Atlanta at Jacksonville Prediction

The offense has been a problem for Atlanta failing to reach 20 points in a game over their last three, but they played a couple of good units (Minnesota and Carolina) in that stretch and should find the going easier this week. The Jaguars have the 30th ranked scoring defense allowing 27.5 points per game while not facing the most daunting schedule. On the other side of the line the jaguar offense has been impressive in recent weeks raking up 380 or more yards in their last three points and with some help from the defense lighting up the scoreboard for 38 points per game over the three games. They'll face an Atlanta defense that has allowed 26.25 points per game in their last four and has looked tired and uninterested last week against Carolina who got out to a 28-0 lead in the first half and coasted in the second of a 38-0 spanking.

Free Pick: Take the OVER 49 at 5Dimes -CK

Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings Prediction

Both teams find themselves losers of two in a row and three of their last four. The difference is in the quality of opponents. The Vikings two losses came against the 11-2 Cardinals on the road and at home against the fast rising 8-5 Seahawks. The Bears dropped back to back games that both were played at Soldier Field against the 4-9 49ers and the 6-7 Redskins. An important stat to consider is Chicago's run defense which ranks 30th for yards per carry allowing 4.7 and 26th for rushing yards per game with 125.7 allowed per game. Excluding their Week 1 loss to San Francisco, Minnesota's losses have come against teams that can stop the run and make them one dimensional on offense. The Bears are unlikely to be one of those teams. The point spread is on the high side and it is a divisional game, but the visitor has nothing to play for and the Vikings have proven that they can extend the margin with six of their eight wins by 6 or more points.

Free Pick: Take the Minnesota Vikings -5.5 at 5Dimes -CK

Game Date: Friday Dec 19, 2015

Free New York Jets at Dallas Cowboys ATS Pick

These teams are going in very opposite directions. The Cowboys had slim hopes when Romo returned and despite the mediocrity of their division, they haven't been able to make any strides. The Jets won't win the AFC East but are in control of their own destiny where the wild card is concerned. They host the Patriots next week but HC Todd Bowles will not allow this talented team to look ahead to that huge matchup. They have to take care of Dallas first and I expect their offense and defense to be too much for the Cowboys to handle. The small spread helps also.

ATS Prediction: Take the NY Jets -3 - JS

Game Date: Thursday Dec 17, 2015

Tampa Bay at St. Louis Prediction

Both teams are basically riding out the string at this point of the season, but I would lean heavily towards Tampa Bay getting the SU win. Both of these offenses have been struggling lately, but the Buccaneers have the clear edge with Winston under center.

Free Pick: Take the Buccaneers -DS

Game Date: Monday Dec 14, 2015

New York Giants at Miami Dolphins Prediction

This is obviously a must-win game for the Giants given their current slide, but I also believe it is a game they will win given the current form of Miami. Lay the point and a half on the current spread as New York finally finds a way to play all four quarters on Monday night.

Free Pick: Take the NY Giants -1 -DS

Game Date: Sunday Dec 13, 2015

New England Patriots at Houston Texans Prediction

The Patriots appeared to be snake-bit against Philadelphia giving-up both a blocked punt and a punt return for a score and I do not see that kind of sloppy play carrying over to Sunday night. I went against Houston this past week as one of my top picks and I am going against the Texans again with a best bet" play on New England covering the 3.5 points on the road.

Free Pick: Take the New England Patriots -3.5 -DS

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals Prediction

The Steelers could manage just 10 points in the 16-10 loss to the Bengals back in Week 8, but they had some excuses. Pittsburgh QB Ben Roethlisberger was making his first start after missing four games and it showed with him hitting an okay 62% of his passing, but the yards per attempt was by far his worst of the season with an average of 5.82 PYPA. Cincinnati is one of the better teams defensively in that category, but their secondary can be had allowing over 300 yards to three opponents this season and meet a Pitt team that has averaged 411 aerial yards per game over their last four. The Bengals' offense while only getting the 16 points in the previous meeting has been efficient this season ranking 4th in the NFL in scoring with 27.8 points per game. It's a real big number, but I think that both clubs will be able to reach their season average making the total a decent play in this spot.

Free Pick: Take the OVER 49.5 at 5Dimes -CK

Detroit Lions at St. Louis Rams Prediction

The Rams are giving up huge yardage against the run with only the Ravens with a back up RB failing to gain at least 140 yards on the ground of their last five opponents. They will be facing the 31st ranked run offense of the Lions this week, but Detroit's ground attack has been improving with three consecutive 100 yard games. I don't think that the Lions are going to exploit that weakness but the team should have enough success to stay with the run and shorten the game. The Rams offense has disappeared failing to score more than 18 points in their last five games and it would be a stretch to believe that will change this week. Detroit has been playing good defense since they returned from the disaster at Wembley allowing 17.5 points per game in their last four.

Free Pick: Take the UNDER 40.5 at 5Dimes -CK

Free San Francisco 49ers at Cleveland Browns Pick

The Browns rank in the bottom 5 of every major defensive category and most of the offensive ones. The 49ers aren't a great team by any means but their recent recipe for success (conservative offense, tough defense) has netted them 2 wins in their last 4 games. With injured QB Colin Kaepernick's status up in the air after the season, Gabbert is taking advantage of a second chance. If he plays mistake-free football, the 49ers should get an easy win. If he starts committing TOs, the Browns will be in the game. I'm banking on the former and expect San Francisco to get another win this Sunday.

ATS Prediction: Take the 49ers +1.5 - JS

Free Detroit Lions at St. Louis Rams ATS Pick

Neither of these teams will make the playoffs but Detroit is still competing. They are playing hard for HC Jim Caldwell whose days with the team may be numbered. St. Louis isnt putting up any fight to save HC Jeff Fishers job as 3 of their last 5 losses have been by 24 points each. I think the Lions will get the job done offensively and that their defense can contain Gurley to get this snake-bit franchise another win.

ATS Prediction: Take the Lions +1 - JS

Free Seattle Seahawks at Baltimore Ravens Pick

Despite their early-season woes, the Seahawks appear to be peaking, especially on offense. They won't win their division but they should secure a wild-card berth and will be a very tough out for whoever they play against. The Ravens season ended weeks ago and they are just playing out the string. They should play hard for HC John Harbaugh but Seattle is just too strong for them, on both sides of the ball. I expect the Seahawks to emerge from this game with a 4-game winning streak thanks to the passing of Wilson and the play of the defense.

ATS Prediction: Take the Seahawks -5 - JS

Game Date: Thursday Dec 10, 2015

Minnesota Vikings at Arizona Cardinals Prediction

There has to be some genuine concern in Minnesota that this team is not as nearly as good as its record might indicate. Arizona, on the other hand, is the real deal and I am banking on the Cardinals to deal the Vikings another loss this Thursday night both SU and ATS.

Free Pick: Take the Arizona Cardinals -8 -DS

Game Date: Monday Dec 7, 2015

Dallas Cowboys at Washington Redskins Prediction

My first instinct in this game was to go with Washington at home given its big win at FedEx Field last Sunday, but the pattern all season long with every team in this division has been one letdown after another just when you thought one of them would take control of this race. I also know that the underdog in this matchup has always had a way of keeping things interesting over the years so I am going to take Dallas and the 4.5 points as my "best bet" pick.

Free Pick: Take the Dalla Cowboys +4.5 -DS

Game Date: Sunday Dec 6, 2015

Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Prediction

Atlanta racked up 496 yards the last time these two met, but turnovers destroyed were their undoing finishing -4 on the day in the 23-20 loss. It's been that kind of year for the Falcons with a variety of issues putting points on the board. They average 23.6 point per game on the season, but they haven't scored that many in a game since seven games back when they scored 25 on the Redskins. The Tampa Bay offense hasn't been lights out either over their last five. Sure, they put 45 on the board against Philadelphia, but it looked like the team had quit on head coach Kelly from the opening kickoff. In the other four games they scored a total of 63 points good for 15.75 points per game. ATL RB Devonta Freeman is expected back after missing last week, but he didn't impress in their previous meeting getting 88 yards on 21 carries.

Free Pick: Take the UNDER 46 at 5Dimes -CK

Indianapolis Colts at Pittsburgh Steelers Prediction

I like Roethlisberger's chances to play this Sunday night, but I really like the Colts' chances to cover with the seven points. This should be an entertaining game that goes right down to the wire with either team having a shot at winning SU.

Free Pick: Take the Indianapolis Colts +7 -DS

Free New York Jets at New York Giants Pick

The Jets are a better balanced team than the Giants in many ways. They can run and pass the ball effectively and they can rush the passer and stop the run on defense. The Giants running game averages fewer than 90 yards a game meaning Manning has to play very well for the team to get a win. I expect Fitzpatrick to do well against this secondary and for Marshall to have another big day. With the line less than a FG I have no problem backing a Jets squad that is fighting to remain in the Wild Card picture in the AFC.

ATS Prediction: Take the NY Jets -2 - JS

Free Arizona Cardinals at St. Louis Rams Pick

The Rams scored 17 points off of TOs in the first game but I don't expect Arizona to be so careless with the ball this week. Palmer should have a big day against this defense and the Cards will look to contain Gurley and Austin early and force Foles to beat them with his arm. Arizona is getting close to locking up the division and they won't overlook an opponent that plays better against their division than outside of it.

ATS Prediction: Take the Cardinals -5.5 - JS

Free Houston Texans at Buffalo Bills Pick

Houston's defense has limited 3 of their last 4 opponents to only 6 points. Since Week 8, they lead the NFL in scoring defense (8.75 per game) and 3rd-down conversions (21.2%). They have allowed 2 TDs in their past 18 quarters. Buffalo has been very up and down this season and their failure to make adjustments in the second half has cost them games. Last week they lost 2 challenges and didn't challenge 3 plays that seemed winnable. The Texans are tied for 1st in the AFC South and I don't see them overlooking a good Bills team that has been hit by the injury bug on both offense and defense.

ATS Prediction: Take the Houston Texans +3 - JS

Seattle Seahawks at Minnesota Vikings Prediction

The Seahawks allowed 480 yards through the air to the Steelers, but still rank 9th in the league in pass defense. They've struggled against some of the better passing clubs allowing 310 to the Bengals, 334 to the Cardinals and 480 last week to the Steelers. All three of those clubs have one thing in common, multiple high level receiver options and that's something that the Vikings do not have. Minnesota ranks 31st in the league and Seattle has had a lot of success stopping all but the top flight passing attacks allowing 178.5 yards and giving up 15.75 points per game.

Free Pick: Take the Seattle Seahawks +1 and the UNDER 41.5 at 5Dimes -CK

Game Date: Thursday Dec 3, 2015

Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions Prediction

You have to ask yourselves is Green Bay really as bad as the team that has now dropped four of its last five games and is Detroit onto to something real with this three-game winning streak? The Packers have dominated this series in recent years and I am banking on things getting back to normal as they find a way to win this game by more than three points.

Free Pick: Take the Green Bay Packers -3 -DS

Game Date: Monday Nov 30, 2015

Baltimore Ravens Cleveland Browns Prediction

The total is set pretty low in this game at 41.5, but I cannot see either offense doing much with the ball on Monday night. This matchup is setting-up to be a real yawner that makes you wonder how it ever got on the schedule. Take the UNDER as my "best bet" pick and do yourself a favor and read about it the next day in the paper.

Free Pick: Take the Under 41.5 -DS

Game Date: Sunday Nov 29, 2015

New England Patriots Denver Broncos Prediction

New England has owned this series lately with five SU wins in the last six meetings, but it is just 1-4 ATS in its last five trips to Mile High. I am counting on Denver's shutdown defense to rise to the occasion on Sunday night to send the Patriots packing with another ATS loss in a one or two point game either way.

Free Pick: Take the Broncos +3 -DS

Free San Diego Jacksonville Pick

San Diego is reeling and they are one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL. Rivers is still competing but lack of a running game has made the offense one dimensional. The defense has allowed almost 30 ppg during the current losing streak and is struggling to defend the pass (16-5 TD/INT ratio) as well as the run. The Jaguars have won 2-straight games and are in the thick of the AFC South race. They have two divisional contests coming up but HC Gus Bradley won't allow his squad to overlook this Chargers team.

ATS Prediction: Take the Take the Jaguars -4 - JS

Free Tampa Bay at Indianapolis Pick

After a nightmarish opening to the season, the Bucs have righted the ship. They have won 3 of their last 4 games and Winston appears to be coming on. Martin is a big threat on the ground (5.0 ypc) and second in the NFL in rushing. Winston hit 5 different receivers with TDs last week showing he knows how to make quick reads when his first option is covered. Hasselbeck has done a nice job in Luck's absence but this will be the best defense he has faced up to this point. Tampa Bay can bring some heat on the pass rush and I expect them to move Hasselbeck off of his spot enough times to make him uncomfortable. If Indy sells out vs. the run, 6'5" WRs Evans and Jackson will have favorable matchups downfield. This figures to be a close game but I'll side with an underdog that appears to be improving on a weekly basis.

ATS Prediction: Take the Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3 - JS

New Orleans Saints at Houston Texans Prediction

The Saints are trying to regroup after the embarrassing outing against Washington. They've had an extra week off to study Houston and should come up with an improved effort this week. That said, I'm willing to take a shot on a team who is playing superior offense right now allowing just 29 total points in their last three, all wins and covers. QB Brian Hoyer is set to return making the linesmaker's 3-point handicap less of a hurdle.

Free Pick: Take the Houston Texans -3 at 5Dimes -CK

Game Date: Thursday Nov 26, 2015

Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers Prediction

There is little doubt in my mind that Green Bay will win this game SU the question remains will it cover the eight points. The Bears have been solid ATS and they were able to play Denver pretty tough this past Sunday. The UNDER 47.5 on the total line is a viable play, but I see Chicago keeping this game a touchdown spread as my "best bet" for Thursday night.

Free Pick: Take the Chicago Bears +8 -DS

Free Carolina at Dallas Pick

Carolina is 10-0 SU and 8-2 ATS this year. They have the type of offense and defense that travels well and I don't see this as a look-ahead game at all (they play the Saints next week). They don't get a lot of media attention and are relishing a chance to play on national TV against one of the more talked about teams in the league. Newton has matured as a player and while he isn't the most accurate QB in the league, he makes plays when they are needed. Romo is the key to Dallas' success but I expect him to still be a little rusty for this game and against this defense, that's bad. The Panthers aren't a sexy, glamorous team but they play smash mouth football on both sides of the ball and with the spread not a consideration, I expect them to win this game and move to 11-0.

ATS Prediction: Take the Carolina Panthers -1 - JS

Philadelphia Eagles at Detriot Lions Prediction

Detroit has won two straight since the embarrassment at Wembley on the backs of their defense, limiting Green Bay and Oakland to a combined 29 points. Their offense however has been lukewarm at best scoring 18 in each of the victories failing to surpass 20 points for the fourth consecutive game. Philly QB Mark Sanchez and the Eagles managed just 17 points in their loss to the Bucs scoring fewer than 20 points for the third time in their last four matches. Scoring should come at a premium this week giving the total lots of value to kick off Thanksgiving football.

Free Pick: Take the UNDER 46 at 5Dimes -CK

Game Date: Monday Nov 23, 2015

Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots Prediction

You know that Bills' head coach is going to have his team fired-up for Monday night especially after the big road win against the Jets, but I do not think it will be enough to get a SU win in a place where this team just does not win. That being said, I do like Buffalo's chances to cover with the seven points as it still finds a way to take this game to the wire.

Free Pick: Take the Buffalo Bills +7 -DS

Game Date: Sunday Nov 22, 2015

Free Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings Pick

Minnesota has the league's No.1 scoring defense and has the No.1 rusher on offense. Those two things are principally why they are 7-2 and leading the division. During their 5-game winning streak, they haven't allowed a team to score more than 20 points. Their defense features a good blend of youth and veteran leadership, the latter on display last week. Rodgers remains an elite QB but is definitely off kilter right now. I like the Vikings to show they are the better team (at least this week) and hand the Packers their 4th-straight loss.

ATS Prediction: Take the Minnesota Vikings at Pick'em - JS

Free Dallas Cowboys at Miami Dolphins Pick

Rarely has so much ink been spent on a 2-7 team but that is what life is like for the Cowboys. Their offense still has holes even with the return of Romo. Miami has a more complete offense and Tannehill has more weapons at his disposal. The Dolphins are at home with a nothing spread and would vault into the wild card picture with a win.

ATS Prediction: Take the Miami Dolphins +1 - JS

Free Oakland Raiders at Detroit Lions Pick

This is a huge game for the Raiders. With a win, they put themselves back into the thick of the wild card race. A loss would make three in a row and talk of the same old Raiders would resurface. Detroit came out of their bye with a massive win at a place they hadn't won at since 1991. They're playing for jobs next year but haven't displayed any consistency. Oakland has better balance on offense and Carr has had a better season than Stafford to this point. I'll give the lean to a young Oakland squad that has started to learn how to win and can take a giant step in the right direction with a victory this week.

ATS Prediction: Take the Oakland Raiders -1 - JS

Cincinnati Bengals at Arizona Cardinals Prediction

Both of these teams have done a good job at putting points on the board this season behind two hot quarterbacks, but I see defense controlling the tempo this Sunday night. This one is too close to call as far as a pick on a side, but I am going with a "best bet" pick on the UNDER 47 on the total line.

Free Pick: Take the UNDER 47 -DS

Indianapolis Colts at Atlanta Falcons Prediction

Both of these teams have lost three of their last four, and they each lost to the Saints, but that's where the commonalities end. The Colts other two losses came against the unbeaten Patriots and Panthers while the Falcons lost to the Buccaneers with a rookie QB and the 49ers with Blaine Gabbert! The 6-point line is an overreaction in my opinion to Luck being out and I just don't think that the drop off will be that large with QB Andrew Luck's struggles this season. Backup Matt Hasselbeck didn't look out of place completing 63.2% of his passes and throwing three touchdown passes to zero interceptions in two starts. Also, it's not like the Falcons blow out the competition with only two of their wins being by more than the current line with the last time coming against Houston in Week 4.

Free Pick: Take the Indianapolis Colts +6 at 5Dimes -CK

Game Date: Thursday Nov 19, 2015

Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars Prediction

I am not getting on the Jaguars' bandwagon for a run to the AFC South title, but I do like their chances to keep things interesting with another SU win this Thursday night at home that covers the three-point spread.

Free Pick: Take the Jaguars -3 -DS

Game Date: Monday Nov 16, 2015

Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals Prediction

Going with any team in the NFL as a double-digit favorite always comes with some level of risk, but I see the Bengals wanting to make a statement on Monday night in front of a prime-time national audience as to just how good this team really is. That is why I am laying the 12 points and taking Cincinnati to cover.

Free Pick: Take the Cincinnati Bengals -12 -DS

Free Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers Total Pick

These two teams aren't playing very well right now but one will win the division while the other hopes to get to 4 wins. Green Bay's totals have been 44 or more in 5 of their games this year while Detroit's have been at least 47 in 5 of their games. This matchup last season hit 50 and with both defenses reeling, I expect a lot of points to be put on the board. Neither team can defend the pass. I expect Green Bay to win the game but I'll take the total in this one as Detroit should reach at least 21-24 points on their own.

Free Prediction: Take the Over 47.5 - JS

Game Date: Sunday Nov 15, 2015

New Orleans Saints at Washington Redskins Prediction

The Redskins are better than their 3-5 record would suggest and are a strong home team 3-1 and are on a three game win streak at FedEx Field. Their No. 1 receiver DeSean Jackson returned last week and he should be much improved in his second back. The Secondary should be in the best shape that they have been in a long time with starting CB DeAngelo Hall having a high probability of returning this week and fellow CBs Chris Culliver and Bashaud Breland on the mend. The Saints haven't beaten much and Washington in my opinion is as good as or better than anyone New Orleans has beaten this season.

Free Pick: Take the Washington Redskins +1 at 5Dimes -CK

Free Jacksonville Jaguars at Baltimore Ravens Total Pick

On the surface it may seem hard to believe these two teams can score 7 TDs between them but it is a whole lot easier to imagine them giving up 7 total TDs. Bortles has the Jags offense rolling but the defense just can't keep up. While the young QB is taking better care of the ball this year, he has still thrown 10 interceptions. You can expect TOs to play a part in this contest as well. I'm not sure who will win this game but I am confident that these two teams can move the ball on each other and score lots of points. Flacco still has the arm to make teams pay and he still throws one of the best deep balls in the game.

Total Prediction: Take the Over 48 - JS

Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks Prediction

You get the feeling that the betting public will be all over Seattle as we get closer to kickoff, but that is based mainly on past performance as opposed to current form. This is Arizona's best chance to create some breathing room in the NFC West title chase and I happen to believe that the Cardinals are still the better overall team right now. I might be taking the three-point bait, but my "best bet" pick in this matchup is Arizona on the road.

Free Pick: Take the Arizona Cardinals +3 at MyBookie -DS

Game Date: Thursday Nov 12, 2015

Buffalo Bills at New York Jets Prediction

This should be a great matchup between two division rivals that both need a win to stay in the thick of the wildcard race in the AFC. I see both offenses having some success putting points on the board this Sunday in a game that should go OVER the current 43-point line as my "best bet" pick.

Free Pick: Take The Over 43 Points at MyBookie -DS

Game Date: Monday Nov 9, 2015

Chicago Bears at San Diego Chargers Prediction

These teams basically mirror one another on both sides of the ball, which makes it all the harder to actually pick a side in this matchup. I would lean towards San Diego at home, but when it comes to betting on this game my "best bet" pick is the OVER 49 on the total line with both team's quarterbacks having success against the other team's porous defense.

Free Pick: Take the OVER 49 at MyBookie -DS

Game Date: Sunday Nov 8, 2015

St. Louis Rams at Minnesota Vikings Prediction

With both teams appearing to need to run to succeed offensively the Rams hold a huge edge in offensive versus defensive rushing statistics. Offensively St. Louis ranks No .3 in rushing yards per game and lead the league in yards per carry averaging 5.0. Minnesota is ranked 5th in the NFL in RYPG and 9th in YPC. St .Louis ranks 6th in the league defensively in YPC (3.7) and ninth in RYPG (98.1). The numbers get even better if you toss out their first two games with the Rams allowing 76.2 yards per game on 3.31 yards per carry over their last five. Minnesota's defensive rankings against the run are not that impressive ranking 11th in RYPG, but a poor 25th in YPC. The key stat from all of that is on the year the Rams have a +1.2 differential in yards per rush (Off vs. Def) compared to the Vikings +0.1. Add in that the Vikings' second leading tackler MLB Eric Hendricks will miss this game and you have a strong play on the road team.

Free Pick: Take the St. Louis Rams +1 at 5Dimes -CK

Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys Prediction

When it comes to betting a side in this matchup, you cannot really trust either team to come through with a predictable performance. Given the inconsistency with both of these offenses combined with some decent play by each team on the other side of the ball, the "best bet" pick is to stick with the UNDER 44.5 on the total line.

Free Pick: Take the UNDER 44.5 at MyBookie -DS

Free Denver Broncos at Indianapolis Colts ATS Pick

The Colts are one of the most disappointing teams in the league and have a lot of internal strife right now. While Manning is feeling the effects of his old neck injury, the Broncos are winning games with defense and some timely offense when needed. Indy has lost 3 games in a row and is only 1-3 SU at home this season. The Colts also have issues with their run defense and I don't think they can consistently stop this offense even with a limited Manning.

Spread Prediction: Take the Denver Broncos -5 - -JS

Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills Prediction

The Bills have lost two straight and three out of their last four, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the extensive injuries to the offense are to blame. Not too many teams can win with the injuries that Buffalo has had this season and especially the. They get back their No. 1 QB, No. 1 WR, No. 2 RB, starting RT and RG. The only starter on offense that will not play is No. 2 WR Percy Harvin. This is easily the healthiest they have been since the Miami game. The Dolphins are better than they were in Week 3 when they were blown out blown out 41-14, but it would be a reach to think that they can close the margin enough to get the cover against a relatively healthy Buffalo squad.

Free Pick: Take the Buffalo Bills -3 -CK

Free Atlanta Falcons at San Francisco 49ers ATS Pick

Atlanta looked great in a 5-0 start but hasn't played well over their past 3 games. This game is their chance to show they belong with the big boys in the NFC. The 49ers could be headed for the No.1 pick in the draft and have nobody on offense to be scared of. Ryan has been too loosey-goosey with the ball and can't afford that this week. All of the talent is on the Falcons side and there is no reason they shouldn't win this game going away.

Spread Prediction: Take the Atlanta Falcons -7 -JS

Game Date: Thursday Nov 5, 2015

Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals Prediction

The Bengals are too hot of a hand to go against, especially against a Cleveland team that appears to be getting worse and worse with each passing week. While I am never thrilled with giving-up more than 10 points in any division matchup, I am going to lock-in on the 10.5-point spread with a play on Cincinnati before the betting public drives it up even higher.

Free Pick: Take the Cincinnati Bengals -10.5 -DS

Game Date: Monday Nov 2, 2015

Indianapolis Colts at Carolina Panthers Prediction

The Colts are a better team than what we have seen so far and Carolina can still be beat, but I am not about to go against a hot hand playing at home under the prime-time lights of Monday Night Football. Lay the touchdown and stick with Panthers to stay on a roll.

Free Pick: Take the Carolina Panthers -7 (L) -DS

Game Date: Sunday Nov 1, 2015

New York Giants at New Orleans Saints Prediction

The NY Giants have been giving up a lot of yardage on the ground the last two weeks allowing 233 yards to the Cowboys and 155 to the Eagles. I don't expect them to fix that this week against a Saints team that finally broke out in the running game rolling over the Colts for 183 yards last week. The Giants are beat up at linebacker with starters James Thomas expected to miss and it's been reported that Jon Beason is unlikely to play. The Saints have won two in a row and have been doing a much better job on offense since the return of G Jahari Evans and have been winning the turnover game with a +5 mark over their last two.

Free Pick: Take the New Orleans Saints -3 (P) -CK

Free Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys ATS Pick

Seattle has been victimized by QBs Aaron Rodgers, Andy Dalton and Cam Newton late in games this year, all QBs on undefeated teams. Cassel isn't in that class (or even school for that matter) and expect him to make mistakes again this week. You can also count on rookie WR/RET Tyler Lockett of Seattle to make a big play sometime in the game. Seattle does have to worry about TE Jason Witten but I feel their secondary can keep him in check. The number is less than a converted TD against a team that is on a 4-game losing streak and think sideline clown DE Greg Hardy is a team leader.

Spread Prediction: Take the Seattle Seahawks -6 (L) -JS

Free Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers ATS Pick

This game depends a lot on what Roethlisberger is capable of doing on the field. A lot of his big plays come when he scrambles from the pocket. He is unlikely to do a lot of scrambling this Sunday. Pittsburgh will want to run the ball a lot this week but I expect the Bengals will play well in the trenches. Both of these teams can score and move the ball but Cincinnati is healthier and Eifert is a real difference maker, as is Green. With the line not an issue, I expect the Bengals to win a close one.

Spread Prediction: Take the Cincinnati Bengals at pick'em (W) -JS

Kansas City Chiefs at Detroit Lions Prediction

The Lions offense has struggled all season scoring 19 or fewer points in five of their seven games this season, but keep in mind that those five matches were against Minnesota twice, Arizona, Seattle and Denver all top scoring defense teams. In their other two games against San Diego and Chicago they scored a total of 65 points for a game average of 32.5. Kansas City did face Green Bay and Cincinnati, but the five other teams certainly wouldn't be considered offensive powerhouses making their 25 points allowed per game a reachable number for Detroit. The Chiefs haven't lit up the scoreboard this season with a 21.4 point game average, but they have faced four teams who rank in the top 7 for scoring defense an should find the Lions' 24th rated pass defense to their liking.

Free Pick: Take the OVER 45.5 (W) -CK

Free Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears ATS Pick

Ironically, both of these teams played the Lions in their previous game. The Vikes fell behind 14-3 in the 1st quarter before scoring 25 of the next 28 points. Chicago lost a shootout 37-34 in OT. The Lions produced 500+ yards vs. the Bears while the Vikes shut them down after the 1st quarter. Minnesota hasn't won in the Windy City since 2007 but I like them this week. They are a more complete team and the Bears let DL Jeremiah Ratliff, their best d-lineman, go during the bye week. I expect Peterson and Bridgewater to both have big games against the still-adapting 3-4 defense of Chicago.

Spread Prediction: Take the Minnesota Vikings -1.5 (W) -JS

Green Bay Packers at Denver Broncos Prediction

Both of these teams have yet to be really tested in their first six games, so I am going to defer to home field advantage in this showdown, especially since the game is being played at Mile High. I will take the bait and the 2.5 points that Denver's SU winning streak continues after Sunday night.

Free Pick: Take the Broncos +2.5 (W) -DS

Game Date: Thursday Oct 27, 2015

Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots Prediction

Miami is finally living up to its potential as a legitimate playoff contender in the AFC, while the pressure of winning week after week is starting to show some effect on the Patriots as far as continually covering these large spreads. I am going to take BetOnline's bait with a play on the Dolphins plus nine points as my "best bet" pick in this one.

Free Pick: Take the Dolphins +9 (L) -DS

Game Date: Monday Oct 26, 2015

Baltimore Ravens at Arizona Cardinals Prediction

Where there is smoke there is usually fire and the Ravens' season is going to continue to crash and burn. I liked the way Arizona bounced back after its first loss of the season, so my "best bet" in this game is to lay the 9 points and take the Cardinals to get back on track with a big win at home.

Free Pick: Take the Arizona Cardinals -9 (L)* -DS

Schwab actually gave this game out at -7.5 which is a win, but we put the game up late and the line was -9 at the time so we used that.

Game Date: Sunday Oct 25, 2015

Cleveland Browns at St. Louis Rams Prediction

The Browns have been lighting it up averaging 26.2 points per game in their last five. They only managed 23 points against the Broncos in their latest but that was the second most allowed by the Denver this season and that is a very solid defensive unit. They'll face another good defense this week, but they catch a break with starting DE Chris Long ruled out and fellow DE Robert Quinn dinged up with a knee injury. If St. Louis doesn't get a lot of pressure they can be beat in the passing game and Cleveland does have a sneaky 7th ranked passing offense. The Rams were not generating much offense until RB Todd Gurley hit his stride in his second game of action rushing for 146 yards on 19 carries against the Cardinals and following that up with 159 against the Packers. St. Louis should have no problem piling up the rushing yards against the 32nd ranked run D of the Browns.

Free Pick: Take the OVER 41.5 (L) -CK

Free New York Jets at New England Patriots ATS Pick

This game is for the lead in the AFC East, a division the Patriots have owned for most of the past 15 years. However, this Jets team looks real good this year. Their only loss came when Ivory couldn't play, showing how much he means to this team. The Fitzpatrick-Marshall connection has accounted for 4-straight 100+ yard games, the first time a Jets WR has done that since 1968. While it's always tough to bet against Brady, I think the Jets have a chance to win this game. Getting 9 points is huge as I believe it will be a close game either way. New York is built to give NE trouble, maybe more so than any other team in the AFC.

Spread Prediction: Take the New York Jets (W) -JS

Houston Texans at Miami Dolphins Prediction

The Dolphins were overpowering on the ground last week running for 180 yards against the Titans and should be able to run on the Texans this week. Houston is thin at LB with starting LB Benardrick McKinney out for this game with a concussion, back up Mike Mohamed on IR and Jadeveon Clowney questionable. The Bucs had no problem running on the Texans amassing 186 yards in a 19-9 win on the road and I feel that type of margin is what we'll see on Sunday.

Free Pick: Take the Miami Dolphins -4.5 (W) -CK

Philadelphia Eagles at Carolina Panthers Prediction

The Eagles have hardly looked like a team leading their division, but their defense has been able to raise the bar the past few games. Carolina is a team that is built around its defense and controlling the clock with a solid running game. While the Panthers should be able to extend their winning streak with the SU win, my "best bet" play in this one is the UNDER 47 on the total line.

Free Pick: Take the UNDER 47 (W) -DS

Free New Orleans Saints at Indianapolis Colts ATS Pick

While there may be no real "moral' victories in football losses, I think last week was an exception. The Colts have been blasted by an average of 20+ points by the Patriots in recent years and faced a hungry team anxious to bury them again. The Colts stood their ground and showed they can compete with Brady and Co. and that should hold them in good stead for the rest of the season. They are 3-3 and need to start winning to win their division. The Saints defense played a great game last week but that was against a division rival at home. I feel the Colts have too much on offense for this defense to handle and I like the Colts to get the win and cover this week.

Spread Prediction: Take the Indianapolis Colts -4.5 (L)-JS

Free Atlanta Falcons at Tennessee Titans ATS Pick

The Titans are on an 8-game home losing streak and looked really bad last week. If Mariota is out or severely limited, the offense has a lot less options. Protecting the prized rookie has been an issue and they don't run the ball well enough to take the pressure off. Atlanta lost to a desperate division rival on the road but they made several mistakes that cost them the game. If they play mistake-free football this week, their offense should have no trouble moving the ball on this defense.

Spread Prediction: Take the Atlanta Falcons -4 (L)-JS

Game Date:Thursday Oct 22, 2015

Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers Prediction

I have a strong inclination to believe that the betting public is going to jump all over Seattle in this matchup, but I am staying away from a play on either side given last week's results. What I do like is a play on the UNDER 41.5-point total line, in what I see as the bookmakers attempt to get the public to jump all over such a low betting line.

Free Pick: Take the UNDER 41.5 (W) -DS

Game Date: Monday Oct 19, 2015

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles Prediction

There are always fireworks on the field when these two bitter rivals clash and I am looking for another close matchup on Monday night. While I am tempted to go with the OVER 50 in this one, I am going to take the Giants and the four points as my "best bet" pick in what should be a three-point game either way.

Free Pick: Take the Giants +4 (L)-DS

Game Date: Sunday Oct 18, 2015

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars Prediction

The Jaguars were without starting MLB Paul Posluszny last week and it showed with the Buccaneers running for 183 yards on the ground. Before last week's game the running defense had been good for holding their opponents to 83 yards per game and they'll face an offence that has had difficulty establishing run this season, so I expect the numbers to revert back for the jags run D. Both of these teams have been giving up a lot of yardage through the air, but I feel that the Jaguars have the better chance at exploiting their opponent's weakness. I'll take the home team laying less than a field goal against a divisional opponent.

Free Pick: Take the Jacksonville Jaguars -2 (L) -CK

Miami Dolphins at Tennessee Titans Prediction

On paper going into Week 1 the Dolphins were not supposed to be this bad. The defensive line play thought to be one of the strengths of the team has not underperformed, it has been an embarrassment ranking dead last in the NFL against the run. I expect that to change in short order starting this week. If the Miami players are ever going to be fired up it should be this week after their head coach and defensive coordinator were shown the door. The Dolphins offensive line will get a boost when their best blocker LT Branden Albert returns after missing the last two games. They'll face a team whose pass defense statistically ranks well but excluding a struggling Andrew Luck have faced QBs who combined had a total of two starts going into this campaign. The Titans offense has averaged 26 points per game this season, but that number is inflated by turnovers in the Buccaneers and Colts game. This team doesn't move the ball well and comes into this game banged up on the OL. Their running game has disappeared in the last two games failing to reach triple digits and more importantly averaging a very low 3.3 and 3.5 yards per rush in those games.

Free Pick: Take the Miami Dolphins +1 at (W) -CK

Free Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions ATS Pick

This matchup hasn't been kind to the Bears in recent years as they are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 visits. However, 2015 is a new year. After getting blasted in their first 3 games, they have settled down and played some decent football against similarly talented teams. Detroit is playing poorly and HC Jim Caldwell isn't a rah-rah type who can get his players up for games. Stafford is being closely watched as his tenure in the Motor City could be over after this season. Chicago is hardly a finished product but Forte gives them a big weapon on offense and I think they can win this game outright but I'll still take the 3 points just in case.

Spread Prediction: Take the Chicago Bears +3 (P) -JS

Free Washington Redskins at NY Jets ATS Pick

New York has forced 13 TOs, the same amount they had in 16 games last year. They are allowing the fewest points per game in the league (13.8) and are playing well on both sides of the ball. In this game, I feel the defense will be the story. Washington has committed 9 TOs already and this is the wrong defense to be playing if you are shaky with the pigskin. The week off should help this defense even more and with the line less than a converted TD, I have to take a strong Jets team at home.

Spread Prediction: Take the New York Jets -6 (W) -JS

Free Cincinnati Bengals at Buffalo Bills ATS Pick

The Bengals are playing at a very high level right now and their comeback last week against an elite team has them flying high. This would be a great game if the Bills were healthy but they are not. Manuel has not had a lot of success as a starter in this league although he had a great preseason. While the Bills defense can be a top unit, they were victimized by the quick pass by both the Giants and Patriots. The spread isn't very high and I expect the unbeaten Bengals to remain unbeaten after this match against a game, but banged-up squad.

Spread Prediction: Take the Cincinnati Bengals -3.5 (W) -JS

New England Patriots at Indianapolis Colts Prediction

The extra half point on the current betting line makes me somewhat nervous with New England as a road favorite, but it would be hard to bet against this team right now. What I do see as being a bit too inflated is the current total line. This game may not out to be the shootout that everyone is anticipating which opens the door to a play on the UNDER.

Free Pick: Take the UNDER 55 (L) -DS

Game Date: Thursday Oct 15, 2015

Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints Prediction

I'm not all that confident that New Orleans can bring its division rival's winning streak to an end this Thursday night, but I do believe that they can score enough points to keep things close and also take this total OVER the current 51-point line.

Free Pick: Take the Saints +3.5 and OVER 51 (W) -DS

Game Date: Monday Oct 12, 2015

Free Pittsburgh Steelers at San Diego Chargers ATS Pick

The absence of Roethlisberger is huge in this matchup. With him, the offense is one of the best in the league. We saw what happened last week as Vick threw for only 124 yards and was sacked 4 times. He tends to hold onto the ball and when he misses, he misses high. Brown may be the best wideout in the league but he needs someone to get him the ball where he needs it. I believe Rivers can take advantage of this secondary and look for the Chargers to work Gates into the mix slowly. They have done well without him and Rivers has to keep spreading the ball around so the defense doesn't key on Gates. The Chargers are 13-2 ATS against non-divisional opponents on Monday night and I expect them to get the cover this week.

Spread Prediction: Take the San Diego Chargers -3 -120 (L) -JS

Game Date: Sunday Oct 11, 2015

New England Patriots at Dallas Cowboys Prediction

There is no doubt that New England is in excellent form as well as being well rested coming off a bye, but giving up 10 points on the road to any NFL team is a risky proposition. Dallas may be limping into this game with key losses on both sides of the ball, but I still think the Cowboys have enough talent to keep things close enough to cover in their own backyard.

Free Pick: Take the Dallas Cowboys +10 (L) -DS

Free Jacksonville Jaguars at Tampa Bay Buccaneers ATS Pick

Both of these teams had high hopes for the year but both are 1-3. Tampa Bay's losses have been by 28, 10 and 14 as they have been behind early in games and not been able to recover. Outside of a 51-17 blowout loss to New England, Jacksonville has been in every game. Winston is playing more like Bortles did in his rookie year while the Jags signalcaller is clearly a much better player this year than in 2014. With Yeldon taking some pressure off, I expect Bortles to have a big day against this secondary and for the Jaguars to get their second win of the season. The fact they are getting 3 points is a bonus.

Spread Prediction: Take the Jacksonville Jaguars +3 -115 (L) -JS

Free Arizona Cardinals at Detroit Lions ATS Pick

The Cardinals have won the last 6 matchups between these two teams including a 14-6 win last season when backup QB Drew Stanton was under center. Arizona is an ascending team with a good QB while the Lions are the only winless team in the NFL and have lost 3 of their games by double digits. The line in this game is less than a FG and I like the Cards chances against a team on a short week that is still grumbling about their misfortune from the week before.

Spread Prediction: Take the Arizona Cardinals -2.5 -120 (W) -JS

Game Date: Thursday Oct 8, 2015

Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans Prediction

The actual spread and total line for this game will hinge on Luck's availability, but even if he does play I would still go with the UNDER in this game as my "best bet" as long as the actual total line does not creep higher than 44. Neither offense has looked all that good so far and I do not think that is going to change all that much on Thursday night in what should be another low-scoring grinder.

Free Pick: Take the UNDER 41.5 (L) -DS

Game Date: Sunday Oct 4, 2015

Houston Texans at Atlanta Falcons Prediction

It's not that I don't think that the Falcons are improved. The offense is certainly firing on all cylinders with Julius Jones looking unstoppable and as mentioned RB Devonta Freeman was brilliant last week. It's the defense that concerns me. In the three games they have played this season the Atlanta defense allowed the most yards to two of their three opponents with only Dallas with their backup QB in not recording a season best in yards against them. I'm not banking on starting RB Arian Foster appearing in this game for the Texans, but if he does go he may have a field day with the defense that's allowing 4.8 yards per carry this season and have yet to face a quality rushing attack this season. Houston's running game exploded for 186 yards last week. They have lost starting guard Jeff Adams and that will hurt, but they are expected to get back starting LT Duane Brown and Xavier Su'a-Filo for this game. The Falcons are overvalued here.

Free Pick: Take the Houston Texans +6.5 (L) -CK

Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins Prediction

I'm just not feeling the Eagles. Sure they beat the Jets last week to get their first win, but they were out yarded in that game and the NYJ defense is good, but 231 total yards doesn't make me think all is now well in Philadelphia. The Redskins really could be 3-0, but some mental lapses caused them to drop their second game of this season. This time it was the QB play of Kevin Cousins who through two INTs and missed open receivers all game. These teams split their two games last season with both getting the victory at home. The Redskins got the 27-24 victory over last season's high powered offense of the Eagles. This year they can't run with the 30th ranked rushing offense in yards per game and yards per carry and 23rd in passing yards per game and 28th in yards per pass.

Free Pick: Take the Washington Redskins +3 (W) -CK

Dallas Cowboys at New Orleans Saints Prediction

The actual betting odds for this matchup could fluctuate one way or the other depending on Brees' playing status, but I am banking on some points being scored by both sides in this one. As long as the total line stays somewhere in the mid 40's I am sticking with the OVER in this game as my top pick.

Free Pick: Take the OVER (W) -DS

Free Oakland Raiders at Chicago Bears ATS Pick

This is the first time in 27 games that the Raiders are a favorite. The Bears are 0-2 as a home underdog this year and 2-11 over the last 13 games in that role. The Bears had a mini fire sale this week, trading OLB Jared Allen and ILB Jon Bostic for a pair of 6th round picks. Both weren't fits for their new 3-4 look. The Raiders are actually surging and have momentum behind a young QB quickly making his mark in the league while the Bears are sliding as they deal with new systems and injuries. Both of these staffs worked in Denver for the past few years and know each other pretty well. I like the way the Raiders are playing on offense and don't like how Chicago has rolled over at home.

Spread Prediction: Take the Oakland Raiders -3 (L) -JS

Free Kansas City Chiefs at Cincinnati Bengals ATS Pick

Cincinnati has been in the discussion as one of the top teams in the league so far. The offense is averaging 28 points per game and Dalton has really taken charge of the offense. The Chiefs made a slew of errors in the Packer game and HC Andy Reid was visibly upset after the game and took all the blame for whatever went wrong. The o-line is an issue and that is clearly affecting Smith. The Bengals know they have to contain Charles and don't have to worry about over the top passes. The Chiefs are in flux right now while the Bengals are looking to stretch their lead in a suddenly uncompetitive AFC North division.

Spread Prediction: Take the Cincinnati Bengals -4 (W) -JS

Free Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers ATS Pick

Most teams would be affronted by being a home underdog. Not the Buccaneers who are 7-21 ATS in their last 28 games in that role. They have also lost 9-straight home games under HC Lovie Smith. There is a lot to rebuild in Tampa Bay while Carolina is doing some good things despite missing key pieces. Newton is playing very well right now as he stands in the pocket to make throws and takes off running at the opportune time. Stewart or another back is likely to have success running the ball and that will make Newton's job easier. The Panthers are 4-2 ATS within the division in each of the past 3 years and I expect them to get the cover (which is only a FG) on the road.

Spread Prediction: Take the Carolina Panthers -3 -120 (W) -JS

Game Date: Thursday Oct 1, 2015

Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers Point Spread Pick

For the most part, these games are close, low-scoring affairs. The average margin of victory in four of the last five games has been three points, which should once again be the case on Sunday. With the current spread less than three, stick with the Ravens to pull out the win by a field goal.

Free Pick: Take the Baltimore Ravens -3 (W) -DS

Game Date: Monday Sept 28, 2015

Kansas City Chiefs at Green Bay Packers Prediction

The Chiefs' defense was somewhat exposed in the loss to Denver and I am still not convinced that their offense can hang with Green Bay through all four quarters this Monday night. As one of my "best bets" in Week 3 of the NFL season, I am going heavy on the Packers to win and cover the 6.5 points in this inter-conference clash.

Free Pick: Take the Green Bay Packers -6.5 (W) -DS

Game Date: Sunday Sept 27, 2015

Pittsburgh Steelers at St. Louis Rams Prediction

The Steelers have faced two below average defenses in their first two games of the season and had a huge scheduling edge in Week 2 against the 49ers. They meet a team that can bring pressure today for the first time this season. The Rams were in a letdown spot after knocking off a divisional foe in Week 1 and should rebound here against a sub-par Steelers' defense.

Free Pick: Take the St. Louis Rams +1 (W) -CK

Denver Broncos at Detroit Lions Prediction

Detroit has played well at home in the past, but it is catching Denver at a bad time. The Broncos are well rested and ready to go behind their defense and a future Hall of Fame quarterback that returned to form his last time out. Lay the points and stick with Denver to stay perfect on the year both SU and ATS.

Free Pick: Take the Denver Broncos -3 (L) -DS

Free New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers ATS Pick

The Saints appear to be reeling. Brees was starting to show signs of age before he was hurt and simply doesn't have the weapons he used to have. The o-line is playing poorly both in the run and passing game, a bad mix when facing one of the top defenses in the NFC. Newton continues to improve and despite a less-than-impressive WR group, he continues to make plays through the air. This could be a real changing of the guard scenario in this division and I like the Panthers to get the cover over a fading rival.

Spread Prediction: Take the Carolina Panthers -3 -125 (W) -JS

Free Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans ATS Pick

Indianapolis has won 13 straight games within their division, the longest such streak in the NFL. They are also 6-0-1 ATS in their last 7 encounters with the Titans. While Luck and the o-line haven't played well yet, their defense has been better than advertised. Luck is too good to average 3 TOs per game and I like him to rebound in a big way this week. Making better use of Gore would go a long way in accomplishing that feat. The number is much lower than expected at the beginning of the season and that just makes a very good Colts team that much more attractive this week. They do have some injuries in the secondary so keep an eye on that before unloading.

Spread Prediction: Take the Indinapolis Colts -3 -120 (L) -JS

Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens Prediction

I'm just not a fan of the Ravens right now. They couldn't beat a Bronco team that refused to let Manning work from the shotgun and they lost 37-33 to an Oakland team that just doesn't have a lot of weapons on offense. The Bengals are usually a solid bet on the road and have looked really good. They already have one common opponent in 2015, the Oakland Raiders and Cincinnati overpowered them outyarding them by 150 yards in an easy 33-20 win while as stated Baltimore lost their match and barely won the yardage battle 493 to 448 against a beat up defense that was losing players throughout the game. This is the home opener for a very desperate 0-2 team, but they are facing a divisional foe who is on a three game win streak against them.

Free Pick: Take the Cincinnati Bengals +3 (W) -CK

Denver Broncos at Detroit Lions Prediction

Detroit has played well at home in the past, but it is catching Denver at a bad time. The Broncos are well rested and ready to go behind their defense and a future Hall of Fame quarterback that returned to form his last time out. Lay the points and stick with Denver to stay perfect on the year both SU and ATS.

Free Pick: Take the Denver Broncos -3 (W) -DS

Game Date: Thursday Sept 24, 2015

Washington Redskins at New York Giants Prediction

Give credit for the Redskins' win last week as home underdogs, but overall they are not as good as they looked on Sunday and the Giants are not as bad as their 0-2 start. Look for New York to gets its first win of the season on Thursday night while covering the four points at home.

Free Pick: Take the NY Giants -4 (W) -DS

Game Date: Monday Sept 21, 2015

New York Jets at Indianapolis Colts Prediction

The big question in this matchup would have to be are the Jets as good as they looked against Cleveland, but you could also ask are the Colts as bad as they looked against the Bills? I am going to answer no to both questions with a play on Indianapolis to bounce back in a big way this Monday night at home with a SU win that covers the touchdown spread.

Free Pick: Take the Indianapolis Colts -7 (L) -DS

Game Date: Sunday Sept 20, 2015

Houston Texans at Carolina Panthers Prediction

The Texans got caught off guard by the Chiefs passing attack falling behind 27-9 at the half. They did however rebound defensively in the second half shutting out Kansas City. Ryan Mallett saw action in the second half and was effective as mentioned. He gets the start this week and I believe the chances of victory increase with him behind center. The Panthers loss of all-world LB Luke Kuechly is massive and look for the Texans to capitalize on the loss with pounding Alfred Blue up the middle. Carolina's offense wasn't anything to write home about managing just 263 total yards against the Jaguars mediocre defensive unit. QB Cam Newton was sacked twice in the game and may find himself under pressure all day.

Free Pick: Take the Houston Texans +3 (L) -CK

San Diego Chargers at Cincinnati Bengals Prediction

I don't know if it was the Chargers' offense that stood out or if the Lions' defense has fallen off that much, but San Diego dominated that game and if not for two big mistakes by Rivers they would have won going away. They go into their battle against Cincinnati banged up on defense and may be missing starting safety Jahleel Addae. Last season the Chargers struggled at times with their run defense which unless corrected can be a big problem going up against the Bengals' two headed monster on running back. The Chargers need to find a suitable replacement at RG after losing DJ Fluker or the Bengals may see a lot of time in the Chargers backfield. Cincinnati sure looked good against the Raiders and should be able to build on that in Week 2. I'll put my money on the home side with revenge on their mind.

Free Pick: Take the Bengals -3 -115 (W) -CK

Free St. Louis Rams at Washington Redskins ATS Pick

These teams finished 1st and 2nd in penalty yardage in 2014 and Washington had 88 yards on 11 penalties against Miami. The Rams had 30 yards on 4 penalties and while they also gave up a punt return for a TD, they also scored on one. The Redskins still have issues with their special teams and the loss of Jackson limits Cousins ability to throw the ball to different areas of the field. Look for the St. Louis safeties to play closer to the line knowing no one can get by them deep. The Rams have been knocking on the door in recent years and winning a game like this one against an inferior opponent is what will get them to a winning record and a potential playoff berth. The number isn't too high for a team that is hungry and has an advantage at QB.

Spread Prediction: Take the St. Louis Rams -3.5 (L)

Free Arizona Cardinals at Chicago Bears ATS Pick

Arizona has a better offense and defense than Chicago and a lot more playmakers on both sides of the ball. Palmer is a much better QB than Cutler at this stage and the Cardinals defense should be able to pressure Cutler into mistakes. Forte is a handful but the disciplined D of Arizona should be able to contain him, to a point. The Bears defense doesn't offer a lot of resistance right now as several players are playing new positions in the front seven. The loss of Ellington is significant but Johnson and Johnson should be able to do enough to keep the defense honest. The spread is under a FG and I like the Cards to go 2-0 with a road win against an opponent that is having trouble on both sides of the ball.

Spread Prediction: Take the Arizona Cardinals -1 (W) -JS

Free Baltimore Ravens at Oakland Raiders ATS Pick

Since the Ravens moved to Baltimore in 1996, they have faced Oakland 8 times. They have been victorious in 7 of those games and have too much defense for this young offense to break through. Flacco, Forsett and Smith need to elevate their play and face a defense that still lacks a lot of quality pieces and is also dealing with injuries.

Spread Prediction: Take the Baltimore Ravens -6 (L) -JS

Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs Prediction

It is hard to see Seattle losing two straight to start the season, but the Packers are a highly motivated team seeking revenge for last year's heart-breaking loss in the NFC title game. Despite the extra half point on the current spread, I am going with Green Bay to cover with a SU win on its home field this time around.

Free Pick: Take the Green Bay Packers -3.5 (L) - DS

Game Date: Thursday Sept 17, 2015

Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs Prediction

This should be a great head-to-head division matchup, but right now I think the Chiefs' defense is somewhat ahead of Denver's offense. This may or may not be enough for Kansas City to cover at home against such a tough opponent, but it is enough for a "best bet" play on the UNDER 42 on Thursday night.

Free Pick: Take the UNDER 42 (L) -DS

Game Date: Monday Sept 14, 2015

Philadelphia Eagles at Atlanta Falcons Prediction

I really like Philadelphia's chances to get off to a fast start with a big road win in Week 1, but the top play in this matchup is the OVER 55 on the total line. While the line may be a bit inflated, Philadelphia should be able to put-up well over 30 points on its own against Atlanta's defense and the Falcons should add enough points to make this pick an easy winner.

Free Pick: Take the OVER 55 -DS (L) -DS

Game Date: Sunday Sept 13, 2015

New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys Prediction

Picking division matchups early in the season is never an easy task, but I see this game as a golden opportunity to cash-in on the Giants and the six points. It may still take the Cowboys' offense some more get on track in the absence of a proven running game and Romo has had mixed results when he tries to win games with just his arm.

Free Pick: Take the NY Giants +6 - DS (W)

Free New Orleans Saints at Arizona Cardinals ATS Pick

Both teams have offenses that can move the ball but the Saints lost several productive players in the offseason. As for the defense, the Cardinals have a much better unit than the Saints. They also have a desire to get back on the roll they were on in 2014 before injuries ended their season. The number is less than a FG for a home team that is better than the visitor.

Spread Prediction: Take the Arizona Cardinals -2.5 - JS (W)

Free Cleveland Browns at New York Jets ATS Pick

The Browns may have the worst collection of skill-position players in the league. As good as their o-line is, they can't run or catch passes. The Jets have a stout front seven and know they will win this game if they control the run. Offensively, NY has more weapons in both the running and passing games and I expect them to get the cover with such a low number against an opponent that has won one opening week game since 1999.

Spread Prediction: Take the NY Jets -3 -JS (W)

Free Miami Dolphins at Washington Redskins ATS Pick

The Redskins are hoping for a .500 record and those are big hopes. Nothing but a trip to the playoffs will do for Miami as they have more than enough talent on both sides of the ball to get the job done. Their ability to mix the pass with the run will be too much for this defense that is still getting used to each other.

Spread Prediction: Take the Miami Dolphins -3.5 -JS (W)

Kansas City Chiefs at Houston Texans Prediction

Houston went 5-3 at home last season with the losses coming against quality opponents in Indianapolis, Philadelphia and Cincinnati. The Texans allowed 20 points per game in those eight played at home and over the last seven overall they held their opponents to 15.7 points per game. They have in my opinion upgraded their QB position with Hoyer behind center but their OL is awfully young and they will be without all-world RB Arian Foster. The Chiefs allowed just 19 points on the road last season and their defense on paper should improve if Eric Berry can contribute after beating cancer. The offense for the Chefs is a question mark. They scored only 19 points per game on the road last season and over were held to 20 or fewer points in five of their last six games. Kansas City like Houston will need to prove that their OL is capable with the new bodies.

Free Pick: Take the UNDER 41 -CK (L)

Indianapolis Colts at Buffalo Bills Prediction

It goes without saying that the Colts have a massive edge at the QB position, but they're ailing at running back. Their offensive line is very unexperienced and even with Marcel Darius out with a one game suspension the Bills can bring a lot of pressure. The Colts Achilles heel at times last season was their run defense and that is exactly what the Bills are expected do this season "ground and pound". Remember this is all about perception. Indianapolis won only two more games than the Bills did last season and are on the road in Week 1 against a capable opponent which is a very unfavorable betting situation.

Free Pick: Take the Bills +2.5 -CK (W)

Game Date: Thursday Sept 10, 2015

Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots Prediction

The Patriots are thrilled to have their starting quarterback under center in this season opener, but I cannot help but believe that all the drama surrounding Brady's recent court battle is bound to carry over onto the field this Thursday night. More importantly, I think the rust in Brady's game from a disrupted preseason swings the dial in Pittsburgh's favor to cover with the seven points.

Free Pick: Take the Pittsburgh Steelers +7 - DS (P)
