NFL Week 9 Recap

The dogs woke up again last week as the favorites got bit hard, ending their short run at the top.

Bettors who thought that the favorites might put together another good week ended up much poorer last week after the underdogs posted one of their best weeks of the season. Back in Week 8 the favorites were a respectable 8-6 ATS after posting sub-.500 ATS records the previous couple of weeks. Last week the favorites returned to the doldrums with an abysmal 3-10 record ATS. Things weren't much better straight up. In Week 8 the favorites were also 8-6 SU. Last week that record fell to 5-8 SU. The overall season record for the favorites now sits at 59-67-1 ATS and 78-49 SU.

Home teams had a better week than favorites, but not by much. The homers were also 8-6 ATS and 8-6 SU back in Week 8. Last week their record dipped ATS, where they were 6-7. Despite not covering the spread the home teams were winning and ended up 8-5 SU. Home field continues to have an advantage overall this season with the homers boasting a 70-56-1 record ATS and a 74-53 mark SU.

For another week the over/under results continued to favor the over. In Week 8 the over/under record came out 9-5 to the over. The overs weren't quite as dominant in Week 9, but they did come out on top at 6-5-2. The overall season record is still favorable on the over side at 65-56-6.
