NFL Week 8 Recap

It was another bad week for favorites bettors as the underdogs posted their second straight strong week during Week 7 of the NFL.

The favorites were a disappointing 4-9 ATS back in Week 6 and things didn't get much better last week. In Week 7 the favorites posted another losing record of 4-7-1 ATS (prior to Monday night). Things were even worse straight up. The favorites at least posted a record over .500 SU in Week 6 with a 7-6 SU mark. In Week 7, the favorites were sub-.500 SU for the first time this season with a 5-7 record SU. The down-and-out record put a damper on the overall season records, as the favorites dipped to 48-50-1 ATS and 65-34 SU.

While the favorites continued to lose, the home teams posted their third straight winning week. In Week 6 the home teams were 8-5 ATS. Last week they were almost able to repeat that with a 7-4-1 mark ATS. Things look almost identical straight up, as the home teams were 8-4 SU in Week 7, comparable to their 8-5 mark SU in Week 6. Another winning week has pushed the home teams' overall season record higher. The homers are now 56-42-1 ATS and 58-41 SU on the season.

The over/under also stuck to the previous week's trend with another week slightly favoring the over. In Week 6 the over/under mark ended up 8-4-1. The overs weren't as dominant in Week 7, but they did come out on top again at 7-5 over/under. The overs continue to have a slim lead on the unders this season, with an overall mark of 49-46-4 over/under.
