The North Carolina Tar Heels head south to Sun Life Stadium in South Florida this upcoming Saturday night for a huge ACC Coastal Division showdown with the Miami Hurricanes. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN2.

North Carolina appears to have gotten over the early season suspensions of several of its key starters by rattling off four straight victories to take its record to 4-2 straight-up and 5-1 against the spread. Last week the Tar Heels knocked off Virginia 44-10 as a six-point road favorite and the week before they got their biggest win of the year by taking down Clemson 21-16 as a 2.5 point home favorite.

North Carolina’s offense has been getting done through the air as it has been averaging 251.5 yards per game, ranking the Tar Heels 35th in the country in passing. QB T.J Yates has completed 121-of-182 attempts for 1495 yards. More impressive is the fact that he has thrown 11 touchdowns against just one interception. WR Zach Pianalto leads the team with 30 receptions for 311 yards.

Miami’s season continues to twist and turn as it has balanced out wins over Pittsburgh and Clemson with losses to Ohio State and Florida State. Last week the Hurricanes beat Duke on the road 28-13 but could not cover the 16 point spread. Overall they are 4-2 SU and 3-3 ATS on the year.

Miami’s offense has remained extremely balanced as it is averaging 232.3 passing yards per game and 159.8 yards per game on the ground. The Hurricanes’ defense is giving up an average of 19.7 points per game, ranking them 32nd in the nation. QB Jacoby Harris continues to put up some decent numbers even though he is only completing 52 percent of his passes. He has thrown 11 TD’s this year, but has also thrown nine interceptions.

North Carolina is 6-4 SU in its last 10 games and 7-3 ATS. The Tar Heels are 3-2 both SU and ATS in their last five games on the road. The total has gone ‘over’ in six of their last 10 games overall.

Miami is also 6-4 SU in its last 10 games but just 4-6 ATS. The Hurricanes are 2-2 SU in their last four home games and 1-3 ATS. The total has gone ‘over’ in four of their last six games overall.

Game Betting Pick

Head-to-head, North Carolina has won four out of the last six games, including the last three SU and is 5-0-1 ATS. The last time they met in Miami, the Tar Heels came away with a 28-24 victory as a 7.5 point road underdog. Stick with North Carolina and the points this time around as well.
