Kent State missed out on a chance to play in a BCS Series bowl game with a 44-37 overtime loss to Northern Illinois in the Mid-American Conference title game as a seven-point underdog. The loss dropped the Golden Flashes to 11-2 straight-up for the year and the PUSH in that game kept them a very profitable 10-2-1 against the spread. The total went OVER the 60-point line against the Huskies and it has now gone OVER in five of their last seven games.
This team's success this season revolved around a bruising rushing attack that averaged 228.3 yards a game. At the center of it all was Dri Archer (1352 yards) and Trayion Durham (1248 yards). These two combined for 29 touchdowns on the ground and Archer averaged an amazing nine yards a carry on 150 attempts. Kent State scored an average of 34.6 points a game while holding its opponents to 25.1 points a game.
Arkansas State was the pride of the Sun Belt with a 7-1 SU record in conference play. It lost to Western Kentucky in late September after early season losses to No.4 Oregon and No.16 Nebraska. From that point on the Red Wolves reeled-off seven-straight victories to finish 9-3 overall. They went 8-4 ATS and the total went OVER in four of their final six games.
Balance is the key word for Arkansas State's offense. It put up an average of 264.4 yards a game through the air while grinding-out another 217.4 yards a game on the ground. David Oku led the team in rushing with 1,024 yards and added 15 TD's on the ground. The Red Wolves' defense matched the Golden Flashes almost point for point; giving-up an average of 25.4 points a game. Former head coach Gus Malzahn, who left last week to start in the same position at Auburn, has been replaced by Bryan Harsin, who served as Texas's offensive coordinator this season.

ATS Betting Pick
The loss of Malzahn should have little impact on a Red Wolves' offense that has performed at a high level all year long. This may actually end-up being one of the more entertaining bowls this season between two very talented Mid-Major programs. However, in the end stick with the Red Wolves to come out on top by more than 3.5 points.
