The Florida Gators continue a brutal patch of conference games when they tangle with the Auburn Tigers this upcoming Saturday night at Jordan-Hare Stadium in this SEC showdown. The kick-off is set for 7 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

Florida faces its third straight ranked team in the SEC this week after back-to-back losses to Alabama and LSU. It was routed by the Tide 38-10 as a 3.5-point home underdog two weeks ago and beaten badly again this past Saturday in a 41-11 loss to the Tigers as a 14-point road underdog. The Gators are now 4-2 on the year straight-up (3-2-1 against the spread) and the total has gone ‘over’ in four of the six games.

Quarterback John Brantley did not play against LSU and is listed as day-to-day for this game with an ankle injury. Back-up QB Jeff Driskel is also out with an ankle injury, so it was up to freshman Jacoby Brissett to lead the way against the Tigers. He completed eight of 14 attempts for just 94 yards and was intercepted twice. Even Florida’s 21st-ranked rushing offense struggled in Saturday’s beatdown with a total of 113 yards on the day.

Auburn comes into this game desperately clinging to a spot in the top 25 after a 38-14 loss to Arkansas this past Saturday as a 10-point road underdog. It was the Tigers second loss of the season against four wins and it dropped them to 2-4 ATS. The total has stayed ‘under’ in their last three games.

They did jump out to a 7-0 lead over the Razorbacks, but the Tigers’ defense had no answer for quarterback Tyler Wilson, who threw for 262 yards and two touchdowns and at one point completed 18 straight passes against Auburn’s frazzled secondary. The defense even struggled to stop the run, giving up 176 yards to a team that is certainly not known as for its ground game.

The Gators are 15-6 ATS in their last 21 road games, but just 1-3-1 ATS in their last five conference games. The total has gone ‘over’ in four of their last five road games.

The Tigers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games at home and 8-1 ATS in their last nine games against the SEC. The total has gone ‘over’ in 14 of their last 21 home games.

These two teams have not met since 2007, but the Tigers have won three of the last four games SU and are a perfect 4-0 ATS. The total went ‘over’ in two of the last three meetings.

Game Betting Pick

Even if Brantley is back in the lineup for this game, stick with Auburn to win and cover at home in a game that should remain tight right down to the wire.
