Boise State Broncos (13-0) vs. TCU Horned Frogs (12-0)
Opening Spread: Horned Frogs -8 / Broncos +8 O/U 55
Time: 8 PM EST Monday January 4, 2010 on FOX

In this year's BCS Fiesta Bowl the undefeated TCU Horned Frogs take on the undefeated Boise State Broncos. Both of these teams are legit on both sides of the ball and TCU has the nation's top-ranked defense. This is a match of last years' Poinsettia Bowl. Neither team plays in a BCS conference so this is an interesting match up in a BCS bowl.

The Horned Frogs ended the season well, as they crushed their last 6 opponents and that includes beating Utah and BYU, both teams ranked in the top 25, by a combined 58 points. This season the Broncos were 1-0 against ranked teams and the Horned Frogs were 2-0.

This season Boise State was 8-4 ATS and TCU was 8-3 ATS.

Gotta feel bad for the state of New Mexico, as in their last games of the season Boise State beat crushed New Mexico State 42-7 and TCU crushed New Mexico 51-10.

TCU is led by QB Andy Dalton (2,484 yds 22 TD 5 INT) who leads the nation's 4th ranked offense. The Horned Frogs have the nation's 78th ranked passing offense and their strength is running the ball with the RB duo of Joseph Turner (732 yds 11 TD) and Matthew Tucker (687 yds 8 TD), who averaged 6.4 yards per carry this season. The Broncos are solid on the defensive side of the ball ranking 13th in the nation on defense, but unfortunately for them they are better defending the pass, ranking 13th nationally, than the run, ranking 40th nationally.

If the Broncos cannot keep the Horned Frogs from running the ball their undefeated season is unlikely.

The Boise State offense ranks 8th in the nation and they are led by QB Kellen Moore (3,325 yds 39 TD 3 INT), who is the nation's top rated passer. He has a couple of legit targets in WR's Titus Young and Austin Pettis, who combined for 133 receptions and 1,819 yards with 24 TD's and each averaged at least 13 yards per reception. The Broncos have the nation's 20th ranked rushing offense led by Jeremy Avery (1,130 6 TD), who is averaged 5.7 yards per carry this season. TCU has the nation's top ranked defense and they are great at both defending the run and the pass. If TCU can stop the run they will have to also pressure Moore, but that will not be easy. Even though the Horned Frogs had 32 sacks this season the Boise State offensive line is stellar, as Moore was only sacked 5 times the whole season and 0 times in the last 5 games.
