The Vanderbilt Commodores will look to improve their postseason resume with a win over the No.22 Kentucky Wildcats in this Tuesday night SEC-East showdown. Tip-off is set for 9 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

Vanderbilt bounced back from a 60-51 loss to Tennessee last Tuesday as a 5 ½-point home favorite with a convincing 90-69 victory over LSU as an 8 ½-point road favorite this past Saturday. The Commodores are now 21-7 straight-up and 14-9-1 against the spread. They are two games behind No. 13 Florida in the SEC-East standings with a conference record of 9-5 SU.

Sophomore guard John Jenkins leads four Vanderbilt players scoring in double-figures with 19.5 points a game. Junior center Festus Ezeli and junior guard Brad Tinsley round out the scoring with a combined 23 points a game, while junior forward Lance Goulbourne is the team’s leading rebounder with 7.1 a game.

The Commodores are averaging 77 points and 38 rebounds a game. They are shooting 45.8 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from three-point range. Vanderbilt has been especially solid from the free-throw line; converting on 74.5 of its attempts.

Kentucky was stunned by Arkansas 77-76 in overtime last Wednesday night as a seven-point road favorite. It responded with a huge 76-68 victory over Florida as an eight-point home favorite this past Saturday. The win moved the Wildcats to 20-8 SU and 10-12-1 ATS. They are currently in third-place in the SEC-East at 8-6 SU.

This youthful Kentucky team is led by freshman guard Brandon Knight and freshman forward Terrence Jones. Both players are averaging over 17 points a game and Knight leads the team with 4.1 assists a game while Jones has a team-high 9.1 rebounds. A third freshman Doron Lamb is averaging 13.4 points and the veteran of the group, junior guard Darius Miller is the fourth Wildcat averaging in double-figures with 10.9 points a game.

Kentucky is shooting 46.4 percent from the field and 39.9 percent from beyond the three-point line. It is ranked 20th in the nation in scoring with an average of 78 points a game and ranked 26thin rebounds with 39.

Vanderbilt is 4-0-1 ATS in its last five road games and 6-2 ATS in its last eight games overall. The total has stayed ‘under’ in three of its last four games.

Kentucky is 2-2-1 ATS in its last five games at home and 1-3-1 ATS in its last five games overall. The total has gone ‘over’ in six of its last seven games.

Head-to-head, these two teams have split the last four games both SU and ATS. The Commodores beat the Wildcats 81-77 as a one-point home underdog on Feb. 12 and the total went ‘over’ the 146 ½ point line.
