March madness Tournament Prop Bets

After winning the 2010 college basketball title, Duke was made the favorite to repeat in 2011. Now on the eve of March Madness, Duke remains among the leaders in college basketball futures after earning a No. 1 seed for the tournament.

The Blue Devils opened this week just slightly behind Kansas at 4/1 on the odds list at Bodog sportsbook, home to one of the best free online bracket contests on the web.

Duke is 17/4, just slightly more than 4/1 odds while Ohio State was close behind at 5/1. Pitt, the other No. 1 seed, was roughly 7/1, tumbling a bit after losing in the Big East Conference Tournament to UConn.

A group of five top schools sit behind this lead group, all bunched at 18/1 and all interesting upset picks for bettors. San Diego State has enjoyed a terrific season and earned a No. 2 seed, while UNC, UConn, Kentucky and Texas have the same March Madness odds.

Texas has been a fashionable early upset pick as some handicappers feel the Longhorns will be in very tough against No. 13 Oakland.
