The Kentucky Wildcats will look to extend their winning streak in the SEC to six games this Tuesday night when they square-off against the Georgia Bulldogs at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens. The tip-off for this conference clash is set for 9 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.
Kentucky ran its record to 19-1 straight-up on the year with a harder than expected 77-71 victory over Alabama this past Saturday as a 10-point home favorite. It was the 14th time in the Wildcats last 15 games that they failed to cover the spread. They are now 4-14-1 against the spread overall and 2-4 ATS on the road. The total has stayed ‘under’ in all six of Kentucky’s road games this season with a posted line.
This team remains rock-solid in every phase of the game with an average of 79.5 points a game and a shooting percentage of 48.5 from the field to go along with 40.1 rebounds a game, which is ranked 11th in the nation. There are six Wildcats scoring in double-figures led by Doron Lamb’s 14 points and Anthony Davis’s 13.7 points a game. Davis leads the team in rebounds with 10.3 a game and Marquis Teague leads in assists with 4.3.
Georgia fell to 1-4 SU in conference play with a 66-63 loss to Mississippi this past Saturday as a 2.5-point home favorite. It was the Bulldogs fourth loss in their last five games and they are now 10-9 SU on the year and 7-8 ATS. They are 8-4 SU at home this season, but just 3-5 ATS. The total has stayed ‘under’ in five of the eight games. The Bulldogs are really struggling to score points as of late with an average of just 61.9 points a game, while shooting a dismal 39.9 percent from the floor. They are also ranked in the bottom-third of Division I in rebounds with an average of only 33 a game. The one bright spot has been the play of Kentavious Caldwell Pope and Gerald Robinson. These two have combined for 28.5 points a game and 8.6 rebounds while each shooting around 42 percent from the field. Kentucky is 1-4 ATS in its last five conference games and 0-4 ATS in its last five games on the road. The total has stayed ‘under’ in its last seven road games. Georgia is 9-2 ATS in its last 11 games following an ATS loss and 24-8 ATS in its last 32 games following a SU loss. The total has stayed ‘under’ in 12 of its last 15 home games. Head-to-head in this series, the road team is 8-1 ATS in the last nine meetings and the total has gone ’over’ in four of the last five.
The Wildcats are 5-2 ATS in their last seven trips to Athens and despite their horrendous record this season ATS stick with them to cover the spread against a very weak Bulldogs team.
