2011 Big 12 Championship Odds

Kansas is the heavy favorite to win the Big 12 with -225 odds at the sportsbooks. Can the Jayhawks deliver a championship, or does an underdog have a chance to steal their thunder? Here's a look at the top contenders in the Big 12, in order or seeding.

1. Kansas -225
The Jayhawks (12-15-1 against the spread) have just one blemish on their 15-1 conference record, an 85-77 loss at Oklahoma State a few weeks ago. In fact, Kansas lost just twice all season, going 29-2 overall. The Jayhawks are just 2-3 in their past five games against the spread but have covered two straight. KEY PLAYERS: Sherron Collins has been excellent for Kansas; he led the team with 15.3 points per game while adding another 4.3 assists per outing.

2. Kansas State +300
Kansas State (17-8 ATS) went 11-5 in Big 12 play, with two of those losses coming to in-state rival Kansas. The Wildcats melted down to close the season, losing two straight-including 85-82 in overtime to lowly Iowa State. Kansas State has covered three of its last five outings but lost two straight on college basketball odds. KEY PLAYERS: Guards Jacob Pullen and Denis Clemente form a great scoring duo for the Wildcats; they average 18.9 and 16.0 points per game, respectively.

3. Baylor +450
Baylor (15-8 ATS) also finished 11-5 but closed out the year in much finer fashion, winning its last four games and losing just once in the past eight outings. Those winning ways have translated to success at the sportsbook; the Bears have won three straight on college basketball odds. KEY PLAYERS: LaceDarius Dunn averages 19.2 points per game while adding 4.7 rebounds per night. Big man Ekpe Udoh is a double-double threat with 13.4 points and 9.8 boards per game.

4. Texas A&M +800
A&M (18-8 ATS) won its last three games of the season, bringing its Big 12 record to 11-5. The Aggies have been absolutely on fire on college basketball odds; Texas A&M is a perfect 5-0 against the spread in its last five games.
KEY PLAYERS: Guard David Sloan carries the offensive load for the Aggies, averaging 17.9 points per contest. Two other players-Derrick Roland and Bryan Davis-averaging double figures for Texas A&M.
