The Jazz (41-22, 39-21-3 ATS) have been on a pretty solid run since early January. Currently, they've won nine of their past 12 games, including three straight. Utah obliterated the Bulls on the road Tuesday, winning 132-108. The Jazz have been very sharp on NBA odds, too, winning seven of their past 10 games against the spread. Utah is even betting on the road, going 8-2 ATS in its past 10 outings.
Deron Williams was a force against Chicago. He racked up a team-high 28 points and 17 assists despite nursing a sore wrist. C.J. Miles had a huge game off the bench, scoring 26 points, and seven players scored in double figures. The Jazz are fifth in NBA scoring at 103.2 points per game and have dropped triple figures in five straight outings. In fact, the team is cranking out a very-impressive 118.4 points over its last five games. The "D" has been shaky in that span, though, at 103.8 points per contest-though with the offense firing on all cylinders, it hasn't really mattered.
Detroit (22-41, 27-33-3 ATS) snapped a six-game losing streak with Sunday's 110-107 overtime win over the Houston Rockets. The Pistons have been a little better on NBA odds, not that that's saying much; they've covered half of their last 10 games. Playing at the Palace at Auburn Hills hasn't given the team much of an advantage; its 3-5-2 in its last 10 games in Detroit.
Offensively, the Pistons have been a nightmare, ranking second-last in scoring this season (93.0 PPG). Tayshaun Prince is averaging just 12.8 points per game this season, but he's taken matters into his own hands by dropping 23 and 29 points in his last two starts. Richard Hamilton leads the team in scoring at 18.9 points per night. Detroit has been solid if unspectacular at the other end of the floor, allowing 97.6 points per game.
Utah and Detroit crossed paths once earlier this season, with the Jazz winning 100-97 in overtime. It continued a string of dominance by the Jazz over Detroit; Utah is 9-1 straight up and 8-2 against the spread in its last 10 games against the Pistons. The total has gone over in seven of the last eight times these teams have met; Sportsbook.com has the total set at 202.5.
