Dallas (24-6, 17-11-2 ATS) had a five-game winning streak snapped with Tuesday's 84-76 loss to Toronto. The Mavericks failed to cover, ending a four-game winning streak against the spread.

Dirk Nowitzki missed the game with a right knee sprain, and it showed. Dallas shot just 41.3 percent from the field and was a train wreck from three-point land, making just five of 22 shots.

Jason Terry led the poor offensive effort with 18 points, though he needed 19 field goal attempts to do it. Jason Kidd probably had the most miserable performance; he hit just three of 11 field goal attempts for seven points.

Nowitzki's status for Thursday is up in the air and, obviously, replacing 24.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per game will be terribly difficult, especially against San Antonio. Shawn Marion started in his place and scored 12 points with five rebounds.

San Antonio (27-4, 18-12-1 ATS) has won back-to-back games since having its 10-game winning streak snapped by Orlando. The Spurs have also covered their last two outings after topping the Lakers 97-82 on Tuesday.

The Spurs got a great game from DuJuan Blair. The big man racked up 17 points and 15 rebounds against Los Angeles, which was crucial with Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol banging inside for the Lakers.

Tony Parker led the offensive attack with 23 points. It was the second straight game Parker has racked up at least 20 points. Mostly, though, the Spurs took care of business on the defensive end. San Antonio held L.A. to just 35.4 percent shooting from the field, and the Lakers turned the ball over 16 times (to just nine for San Antonio).

Dallas is 6-4 in its last 10 games against the Spurs, including a 6-3-1 record against the spread. They've already met once this season, with the Mavs winning 103-94 in San Antonio.
