Charlotte camp close, but not close enough on Saturday, falling 90-86 in Game 3. The loss dropped the Bobcats to 0-4 in their last four outings, which has completely killed the momentum of a 4-1 run before that. Success has been even harder to find at the sportsbook-Charlotte has covered just three times in its last 10 games against the spread. Unfortunately, homecourt will offer little advantage in Game 4; the Bobcats are 2-5 against the spread in their past seven home games.
Offensively, Charlotte needs somebody to step up. The Bobcats shot just 41.9 percent against Orlando in Game 3; Stephen Jackson led the team with 19 points but went 6-18 from the field trying to get there. Gerald Wallace, who had 26 points and 17 rebounds in Game 1, managed just 14.0 points and 7.0 rebounds over his past two outings. A better effort on the glass would also go a long way for the Bobcats, as they were outrebounded 43 to 33 in the most recent loss.
Orlando has seemingly heated up at the precisely the right time. The Magic have ripped off nine straight victories straight up, including the impressive 3-0 lead in this series. Orlando has been almost as good to sports betting fans, winning eight of its last nine games against the spread. The Magic have been road warriors as of late, going 7-3 ATS in their past 10 games away from home.
Jameer Nelson was dynamite in Game 3. He led Orlando with a game-high 32 points and was active defensively, too, racking up four steals. Dwight Howard was in foul trouble for much of the game and played just 26 minutes, but he still posted 13 points, eight rebounds and an incredible seven blocks. Moving forward it'd be nice to get a little more scoring from the bench, which managed just 14 points on Saturday.
Going under the total has certainly been the trend between these two teams. Three of their last four meetings have done so-and the only game that didn't was a push. BetED.com has the total set at 184.5.
