The Lakers (17-7, 10-14 ATS) have rebounded from a four-game skid, winning three of their past four games. Los Angeles topped New Jersey 99-92 on Sunday, but that's little consolation to NBA betting fans; the club has covered just once in its past 10 games, including four straight losses ATS.

Lack of scoring has been a major perpetrator to the Lakers' slump. They've failed to top 100 points in three consecutive games, averaging just 90 points per game in that span. After being first or second in scoring for much of the season, the Lakers are now close to dropping out of the top five.

It's becoming painfully apparent the club needs Andrew Bynum back in the lineup. Bynum was slated to start practicing on Monday, but when he'll rejoin the lineup remains in doubt. Pau Gasol has expressed concern that he's getting overworked, particularly in the paint. The big man has been incredibly inconsistent this month and is shooting just 42 percent in December; he shot over 50 percent through the first month and a half of the season. As a result, Gasol is averaging just 15 points per game over his past six outings.

Washington (6-16, 9-13 ATS) is mired in a four-game losing streak. The Wizards lost to New York 101-95 on Friday, their eighth loss in nine games. Washington hasn't been much better against the spread, going 1-3 ATS in its past four games.

Keeping John Wall healthy would make a big difference, but it's proving near-impossible. Wall has already missed eight games due to a foot injury. He played 36 minutes against the Knicks on Friday but was largely ineffective, making just four of his 14 shots and finishing with eight points.

Tuesday's match up will likely be determined on the glass-which is terrible news for the Wizards. Even without Bynum, the Lakers rank third in the NBA in rebounding. Washington, meanwhile, is ahead of only Detroit on the glass.

The Lakers have won eight of their last 10 games against Washington, though L.A. is just 5-5 ATS in those games. The Wizards have actually covered four of their past six games against the Lakers, including a 115-108 loss to Los Angeles earlier this season. The total has gone over in three of the past four meetings between these clubs;Sportsbook.com has set the total for Tuesday's game at 204 points.
