Dallas Mavericks at San Antonio Spurs (-3.5) Betting Odds

The Mavericks' 103-81 win in Game 5 ended a three-game losing streak. Those three losses are the team's only defeats in the past 10 games. Dallas has been just as good at the sportsbook, going 7-2-1 against the spread in its last 10 outings. Dallas has lost back-to-back games in San Antonio, going 0-1-1 against the spread in that span, but had covered five straight road games before that.

Caron Butler justified his mid-season acquisition by Dallas with a huge effort in Game 5. The former Wizard led all players with 35 points and 11 rebounds. He added three steals for good measure. With Butler doing most of the heavy lifiting, the rest of the Mavericks simply had to play complimentary roles. Dirk Nowitzki scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds; Jason Kidd had 10 points, seven assists and seven boards; Jason Terry dropped 12 points off the bench. If Dallas struggled with anything, it was three-point shooting (6-24 on the night).

The Spurs fell to 5-5 in their last 10 games after Tuesday's loss, but they hope to carry some momentum from that recent three-game winning streak into Game 6. San Antonio hasn't been especially kind to sports betting fans, as the team is 4-5-1 against the spread in its last 10 games on NBA odds. Despite that run, the Spurs have played quite well at home, going 7-2-1 against the spread in its last 10 games at the AT&T Center.

San Antonio struggled offensively. Tim Duncan raced out of the gate in this series, averaging 25.6 points and 10.0 rebounds through the first three games, but he's fallen apart since-Duncan has just 15 total points and 17 total rebounds over his past two starts. Everyone else deserves some blame too. Tony Parker (18 points) and George Hill (12 points) were the only other Spurs to hit double figures on Tuesday. Manu Ginobili was invisible with seven points on 2-7 shooting.
