The Eastern Conference-leading Chicago Bulls continue through the early stages of a nine-game road trip when they hit Philly Wednesday to take on the Atlantic Division-leading 76ers in an interesting Eastern Conference matchup (7 pm Eastern).

Chicago is 1-1 so far on its road odyssey, after losing a tough one at Miami Sunday 97-93, then winning in Washington Monday night 98-88. But the road imposes no real hurdle to the Bulls, who are a league-best 9-4 both straight-up and against-the-spread as visitors so far this season.

So Chicago, at 18-5 through Monday, leads the Central Division by three games over second-place Indiana, and the Eastern Conference by a game over Miami.

Philadelphia, meanwhile, is 4-1 so far on its current seven-game homestand. The Sixers beat Washington a week ago, lost in overtime to New Jersey, and have since beaten Charlotte (89-72), Detroit (95-74) and, Monday night, Orlando (74-69). Philly is now 11-2 SU and 10-3 ATS at home this season.

So the 76ers, at 15-6, lead the Atlantic Division by five games already over second-place Boston. And they also sit in third place in the East, just a game back of the Heat and two back of the Bulls.

One reason for Philly’s success this season is their league-low 11 turnovers per game.

One reason for Chicago's success is that they lead the league in rebounding at +5.5 per game.

On the injury front Chicago G Derrick Rose has missed recent action with a sore toe, but he threw in 35 points in the win over the Wizards Monday. But fellow Bulls Luol Deng and Richard Hamilton have both missed recent games with various ailments.

Philly is 7-14 on the 'over/unders' this season, as Sixers games have averaged 184 points.

Chicago is 10-12-1 on the totals this season, as Bulls games have also averaged 184 points.

This is the first meeting this season between these teams. Last year Philadelphia took two of three games from Chicago. The Bulls blew out the Sixers in the first meeting last year, but Philly won a couple of tougher games after that. And two of those three games played 'over' their totals.

On the NBA futures betting market the Bulls are getting right around 2/1 to win the Eastern Conference this season, while the Sixers can be gotten at 8/1.
