Baseball BettingMonday MLB Betting Info: June 29
The Tampa Bay Rays are one of the hottest teams in the majors right now, but their momentum could hit a brick wall on Monday when they run into Roy Halladay and the Toronto Blue Jays. The Rays have reeled off five straight wins and they’ve won seven of their last eight overall. Bettors haven’t been cashing in a whole lot, though, as five of those wins came at home as the favorite on the baseball odds, which included two -170 victories. Halladay is scheduled to return on Monday from a short stint on the DL due to a minor groin strain. Despite missing what amounts to two starts Halladay remained tied for the league lead in wins with 10. He last pitched on June 12 against the Marlins and lasted three innings before the groin injury forced him to shut it down. The Rays were one of the few teams that gave Halladay some trouble last season, and in five starts against them he posted a 2-3 record and a 4.11 ERA. Two big-name lefthanders are on tap to start on Tuesday, with NL Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum slated to pitch for San Francisco and Jon Lester on the hill for Boston. Lincecum is cruising right now with 3-1 record and a 1.82 ERA in his last five starts. He’s also racked up 40 strikeouts in 39 2-3 innings during that span. Lincecum and the Giants face St. Louis on Monday, and the Cardinals are hitting .228 against southpaws compared to .268 against righthanders this season. Lester is also mowing down hitters right now with a 3-1 record and a 2.18 ERA in his last five starts. He’s also picking up a ton of strikeouts with 44 in 33 innings. Lester leads the BoSox against Baltimore on Monday, and he faced the O’s back in April when he tossed seven shutout innings with nine strikeouts. Bet Baseball Online With Your Credit Card |
