Colorado Rockies at San Francisco Giants Betting Odds

Opening Game Odds: Colorado Rockies (+125) at San Francisco Giants (-135) at Broburysports.com

Projected pitchers: Aaron Cook vs. Barry Zito

Barry Zito (3-0, 1.32 ERA) is pitching for the Giants, and he's been nothing short of brilliant in 2010. The Giants have won three of Zito's four starts this season (and in the loss he allowed just one run in 7.1 innings). The southpaw dominated his last start, throwing eight scoreless innings and striking out 10 batters in a 2-0 win over the Cardinals. There's a good chance he'll pad his numbers even more against Colorado; Zito is 4-2 with a 1.98 ERA in 11 career starts against the Rockies.

The Giants surprisingly sport the National League's best batting average at .286, but it hasn't translated into scoring-they rank 11th in the NL for runs. Five regulars are hitting over .300, including Nate Schierholtz, who leads the team with a .378 average. Pablo Sandoval is close behind at .373. Juan Uribe leads the team with 11 RBIs.

Aaron Cook (1-2, 5.01 ERA) will take the mound for Colorado. Cook got off to a rocky start this season, struggling in each of his first three appearances. He finally bounced back in last week's 9-1 win over the Florida Marlins; Cook allowed just five hits and one run in a complete-game performance. He hasn't had a ton of luck against the Giants throughout his career, though. In 25 appearances (20 starts), the right-hander is 7-9 with a 4.87 ERA.

Colorado ranks third in the National League in run scoring. Young outfielder Carlos Gonzalez is enjoying a fine 2010 thus far. The third-year player is hitting .355 with a team-high 16 RBIs. Gonzalez is also tied for the team-lead in homers with three. Troy Tulowitzki has just one homer so far, but he's hitting .317 and is tied for second on the team with 13 RBIs.

This marks the first of a three-game series. Colorado and San Francisco have yet to meet up this season.
